Back around the end of November I ordered a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop from this company. I had it arranged to where they would deduct their money weeks after I was approved. Meanwhile I sent my contract and everything they asked for back in. I never received anything in the mail from them like promised about my contract. The $99 came out on December 12th. About 2 weeks after they took the $99 out of my checking acct. they deducted another $10 out which I wasn't too concerned about because it was only $10. I called them about it and they said that it was a computer problem they were having and that they were glad I called and they promptly refunded my money.

4 more weeks went by, still nothing from them. I called. They said "well you ordered your computer around the holidays, we've received an huge amount of orders this season so we're really backed up. Give your computer an extra week to be shipped to you." So I was like, thats understandable. February comes in, I call, a lady answers and tells me that they are extremely back up still and that they needed to verify my information again and my computer will be on its way. She couldn't tell me exactly how long all that would take. She was like, "My you've been waiting a long time, thank you for your patience. If you do feel as though you can't wait any longer, we will be happy to refund you back the $99 down payment." I told her that I'd wait a little more. She said I should get an email when its been shipped.

I called back about 2 weeks after that, got a voice mail prompt to leave a message, did, no one ever called me back. So I called back again the next day, a guy answers and tells me that they are just waiting to hear from shipping. He also said the same crock the lady before had said about re-verifying some information before its sent out to me. He too said that I'd get an email whenever it was shipped. Today I call because I am just completely fed up at this point. All the time I've been waiting, I could have saved up the money and bought a brand new laptop, with whatever I want on it, straight off the Dell website. Today the lady that answers says that they just got some information in today, yeah right, about my status and that I didn't qualify for the computer that I wanted, even though I applied, got approved, and signed a contract for the computer they were supposed to be sending me. She tried to sale me on some lower end Dell laptop with a celeron processor and less ram that's probably only worth $500 on dell's website for $15 a week. If thats the kind of laptop I wanted, I make enough money in one weekend to buy one without financing! I told her that that laptop sucked so she offered to refund my $99, we agreed on that.

Before we hung up, she told me that I should have the $99 back in my checking account in 30 days. It didn't take them 30 days to deducted it out of my account so why is it going to take an entire 30 days to put it back. Anyways, I asked her if the refund was going to work like the computer never coming did and she promised that it wouldn't. That remains to be seen.

I had seen a few things scattered on the web about pcdirect that wasn't good but that was after I had already ordered from them. I don't think I'm going to try another one of these bad credit computer financing websites. I'm just going to save my money and buy one straight out. This should be illegal. I hope they are knocked out of business. I guesss I'll update in 30 days to let you all know whether or not I actually got my $99 back.

Finally Refunded my $99

PCDirectbiz to my surprise refunded my $99 about a week and a half after the 30 days were over. I called a week before they refunded the money and was told that they were having some difficulties with their system and that my request for a refund had already been sent in and that I should expect my refund that next week and they were right. Oh well. They still suck because they approved me for a computer and I signed the contract and sent it back and then they renigged on it.
