Peachdirect Company refused to accept a return of a new computer that never worked. ripoff Stockton California
I argued with customer service for about 15 minutes before the guy realized he wasn't going to win. He put me on hold and a few minutes later came back on. I pointed out that his company gives a 15 day guarantee. Which I was going to force them to honor. He said they would send out a return shipping label. I ended the call.
I never received the return shipping label in a reasonable amount of time, but I did receive the bill. I called Peachdirect again stating I never received a shipping label. The guy said again it wasn't there problem. I demanded to talk to a supervisor and got on the line with a supervisor. He informed me that all the stuff you order comes from a 3rd party. Peachdirect doesn't handle any inventory. Everything is drop-shipped pretty much.
I would have to contact the 3rd party in order to get the computer returned. I told him I was doing NO such thing and they would send me a shipping label because I wasn't paying to have it returned. I told him to call the 3rd party. He told me they had no outside lines coming from there building. I hung up mad.
So here I am looking at the bill for $640. I call GE Money bank and said, "I want to dispute my bill." They told me I would have to continue paying the bill since I probably had other charges. I told them NO I was not going to pay anything. I told them the entire bill was in dispute. They put a dispute note on my credit report. I knew I had rights under Federal Law. Read the back of the GE Money bill folks.
It took Ge Money 2 weeks to open my dispute letter. I sent a 2 page letter to GE Money outlining everything that had transpired with Peachdirect. I sent back the credit card and told them IT would be a cold day in HELL before I ever bought another thing from Peachdirect.
30 days later I got a letter from GE Money saying they had corrected the problem with Peachdirect and I would be receiving a shipping label. I got a conditional credit added to my bill. I received the shipping label around May 24th 2 1/2 months after the problem started and only after I demanded my rights under Federal Law. I sent the product back to Peachdirect.
Sometime now in July I received another shipping label. I was tempted to load up a box of rocks and send it to them with there own shipping label. BUT 2 wrongs don't make it right.
