In the past, I've used PeoplePC and was very happy with them. But the last time I used them (before this one) I went through this nightmare. That was nearly 3 years ago. I moved to a new home in July and all I could get for Internet was dialup on a landline... so I crossed my fingers and went back too PeoplePC. Then in August I lost my job, and in October lost my landline. Since I'd paid PeoplePC upfront for five months, it was good til mid-November. I had hopes of returning to work by then, so allowed them to debit my card for Nov-Dec. service. But I finally got back to work 2 weeks ago, and I called them on the 19th to cancel the service. After having to battle with the Customer Service Rep for fifteen minutes (he kept wanting to just put it on hold, keep my PPC email address - which I never used - and kept trying to commit to them) after I started asking for his supervisor he FINALLY cancelled the service and I FINALLY rec'd a confirmation email. Now, today (the 23rd) I am looking at my bank account and they are trying to debit another month of service! I called them and the CSR told me "sorry, you cancelled the day after the due date" so I said "it is cancelled so I do not owe you for service I haven't used in 2 months". I have notified my bank to NOT pay this debit, and I am reporting them HERE since they have now exhibited a pattern of scamming, deceit and lies
