Peoples Trust Insurance Company Hidden Clause !! " Right To Rebuild " We just Happen to Own A Construction Company Boca Raton, Florida

We lost our home to a Fire Sept 2010 It was insured By peoples Trust Insurance , The Electrical Short that consumed our home was only the start of the NIGHTMARE dealing with this company has been the worst experiance of my life ! I have never been treated so poorly by any person or company in my life . It turns out they have a clause tucked away on the back of the policy which no one ever mentions that they can opt to rebuild your home , which in the begining would have been fine if they were replacing the same as before the fire ( which by the was the Fire Marshall declared a total loss ! )

My Home was a sizable custom home reduced to rubble & soaked with water for Hours. Water came out what was left of the walls for 4 days ( and they were going to reuse the studs & Drywall ) They have several low ball offers to repair using unlike materials for repair ( FROM THEIR OWN BUILDING COMPANY "RAPID RESPONSE" ) the first one was less that 1/3 of a Local Custom Builder quoted.  Needless to say thats when I had to hire a lawyer after 6 months I had to hire a 2 nd Insurance Special Lawyer ( Incurring well over $100,000.00 in legal fees ).

I have been to 2 mediations and Insulted & called names both times by their Lawyer & The President of the Company Mr Gold ( very professional )  It seams they have a Tract record of paying less than 30 % on Claims ( over 100 cases ) If you are looking for Home Owners Insurance I would Keep Looking . The President Mr. Gold Told me he would keep this in court 5-10 years ! My first Court Date is in may 2013 . I am not going to go into dtails on this post but this is a Ugly Story you pay your Premium for years and never need it when something happens and you think you will be taken care you just get Jerked Around
