Date 9/12/2010

On 3/26/2010, I had a new Power Steering Pump, Pulleys and Serp Belt in stalled on my 1996 Town and Country Van at Pep Boys Auto 1255 E. Fry Blvd., Sierra Vista, AZ (520) 458-0020. Estimate by Favio Edgar Figueroa, installed by Jesus Rodriguez for $496.79. I also purchased Extended Labor Warranty and 3 year Warranty on the Serp Belt.

4 months later the Serp belt fell off. After filing my complaint a person named Carl Called me and here is what he had to say to me. My pep boys case # is 49952. Today (Sept. 11, 2010) @ 11:32am I spoke with Carl at the Sierra Vista Store. I was informed after extensively researching my invoice, he found I was missing a shroud???? I was never told this, it is not on my invoice and he
said it was my job to buy one. Not their fault, and not covered under warranty. I looked up the part on your web site and the part on my invoice and the part in my van are 2 different parts and Carl who has never even seen my van says they are the same. your part # 300-101 is what my
invoice says and the part should be 89251 which is what was pulled out of my van.. And there
is no shroud needed. Therefore the 52.92 I paid for the pulley warranty and the 34.21 I paid for the
3 year warranty on the serp belt can not be honored because its my fault it came off. Pep boys was under no obligation to say my van was missing a part to hold the belt on. Nor will they tow in it. So I
paid 496.79 and no one but myself is responsible for the serp belt falling off
but me. I should have known it was missing, and your shop has no warranty to
honor. This is outrageous. Who does this kind of work. I am a handicap woman,
who is being taken advantage of by their shop in sierra vista.

This is only one of my issues with Pep Boys in 1 Year and 9 months they have installed brakes 4 times, 2 alternators, 4 tires 2 times, engine torque mount 2 times,, power steering pump 3 times,

Aliment7 times, for a total of $2,160.00 and only 1 time a warranty honored. Even my rotors being warped after they installed them in 10/2009 is my fault because I drove through water??

I dont know what else to do, I have no vehicle and can not afford any more repairs I cant even afford the Rental Car Now since they see no fault on their part.

To resolve the problem, I would appreciate your help to have them either pay to fix my Van, fix

My Van and pay for the Rental Car I had to get. Please Help Me.

This is a perfect example of what happenswhen you go cheap it costs you more. Sorry you got hosed. But after 20 separate repairs in 1.9 years that is like a Dog the loves to eat poop in the park it just isn't healthy
