Persuasion Advertising & Marketing Does Not Pay Freelancers Lancaster Pennsylvania

I have provided Nelson Rivera with copywriting services over the past two years, for the businesses Rivera Advertising and Persuasion Advertising & Marketing LLC, both located in Lancaster, PA. Nelson Rivera had paid the last few invoices very late, so I started requesting he pay upfront to avoid nonpayment.

On February 4, 2009, Nelson Rivera purchased one and a half hours of copywriting services and said that while he could not pay upfront, he promised to pay within 15 days. The copywriting was completed and delivered on February 6th and billed on February 9th with an invoice due date of February 24, 2009.

On March 11, I e-mailed Nelson Rivera a second copy of the invoice with a note saying it was past due. He apologized and said he would put a check in the mail. On March 19th, I inquired about the invoice. Nelson Rivera said he had forgotten to put the check in the mail, and would do it the following day. On April 6th, I e-mailed him again regarding the invoice. He said he would put a check in the mail. On April 14th, I e-mailed him again and asked about the check. He said he did not have the funds and would pay it as soon as possible.

On April 30, I stopped by Nelson Rivera's home address to request the check. He wrote a check out for $150 from an account titled "Persuasion Advertising & Marketing LLC." He apologized for the delay in payment and said he hoped the extra money would make up for the inconvenience he has caused.

On May 14, I discovered that the check had bounced, and caused a bounced check fee of $10. I e-mailed him to let him know, and he said he intended to pay me, though he did not make any indication of when that might be.
