He admitted to me that this problem has show up twice before in this line and that the dogs live a quality life This may be true, with proper surgery, but my vet said that no ethical breeder would keep breeding a line with this defect. He should honor his written guarantee or at the very least help with future vet bills and required surgery. I notified Peter Cadman and let him know I was filing this report and look forward to his comments

Dave, What is your problem?

I think you are a very unhappy person! There Is not one other person here who has one of Peter"s GSD's that is as unhappy with their dog as you are. Someones perception of Peter's website is not a valid complaint. Have you been to Peter's house?
You need to let go and start to move on with your dog's life. Perhaps your dog would do better on a raw diet. Violet, our GSD, from Peter, has been praised by our Vet as a GSD in perfect health. She is 2 years old and she has been on a raw diet since 5 month old. Having said that, if I had a pup from Peter in less than perfect health I would have done everything in my power to help her obtain a happy, optimum healthy life. I have had other animals from breeders that have had health problems, but I have never blamed the breeder. I have sought the best medical help I could because they are a family member. What do you want? Seriously you need to be real with yourself and ask this question.
We have been all over North America with Violet and we cannot go anywhere without someone asking "where did you get this dog?" or saying "that is the best looking GSD we have ever seen!" also I have met people who have had tears in their eyes when looking at our Violet saying " that reminds me of the GSD I had when I was a child!" I love her no matter what!!!!
As for Peter, if I was to ever get another German shepherd, I would never hesitate to buy one from him.
Dave, you need to think about why you are doing this?

I have one of Peter's breeding. He was bought by friends as a house pet and companion. They both are professionals, each in their own careers. After two years they, in the dog's best interest, wanted him to get more attention and more room than their city home. They are both away far too long each day -That was the correct choice to make. I endorsed their original choice in buying from Peter, even though I had never dealt with him or his breed lines, myself. They were, and are, impressive beyond 95% of what's out there today.
Duke is among the best German Shepherds I have ever had the joy to care for. He gets along with people, cats, small dogs and is an awesome home protector. Do I know GSDs? I most certainly do. I bred and showed my own breeding for over 10 years in Canada and the U.S.A. I know GSD's very intimately. My lines came, originally, from Leo Bellino, Carissima Kennels. Leo knew more than most in North America. He taught me most of what I know. I'll put my experience up against yours, 'Dave' any day of the week( if that is indeed your real name). I doubt you have any valid knowledge, experience or understanding of German Shepherds...or of decent people, either. Go ahead...make my day and just 'try' to prove me wrong. I don't think you will, or can, because on top of everything else - I think you're just a coward and a liar. People like you are the bane of sincere GSD Breeders everywhere (actually the bane of sincere and good people everywhere). I know GSD's and I would head to Peter, in a heartbeat, to obtain the highest quality breeding specimen of the German Shepherd Dog in North America. I started with Carissima's Catherine, from Leo Bellino, - Canadian Champion GSD who beat out the best males for Best of Breed. I am certain Leo would endorse Peter's lines in a heartbeat. (Leo has passed, sadly for us all in the GSD world) I am also certain that Leo would see you as a complete asshole and trouble maker. Kudos to you Peter Cadman. Keep on what you do so well. Ignore this idiot schmuck -'supposedly' from Chicago. He gives good people from Chicago a bad reflection. You, Peter, show class. Just ignore the little putz, if you can do that. ( 'Putz' = 'tiny schmuck'...about this big [--->] )

i gentlely inserted his massive tool while she protested in vane ,
held them together for five minutes and had a good tie 35 minutes.
it was day 15 - 16.
we would not have succeeded without human intervention.
she cooperated during the tie.
she is a dominant bitch and does not like to submit to any boy , as in

i feel the chance of pups is about 99% with a tie as descibed.

Here is another about fattening up his puppies with basically fat to make his dogs look good to sell. No mention that to much fat, in this case enough to make them "chubby", might cause problems like Pancreatitis and other problems a puppy's digestive system can't handle. But they will look good to buyers.

Instead of changing and practicing good breeding practices rather than a glitzy web site with pretty pictures he will do all he can to remove these posts and others on German Shepherd forums and misrepresent what he does. I've said it before and I'll say it again this guy runs a PUPPY MILL. Do your homework. He's a farmer of German Shepherds, his dogs mean no more to him than chickens to a chicken farmer. They must be abundant, fat and able to make a significant profit.

After doing my homework i plan on buying a GSD from Crosshill Kennels
AUTHOR: S.Moser - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, August 05, 2012
Dave Chicago, has proved this by doing the following.
Refusing to return the dog.
Refusing to produce the medical records to the breeder or the breeders vet.
Refusing to produce the Micro Chip ID to the breeder to confirm the identity of the dog.
The only reason a person would do this is because they do not have it, its that simple.
Dave Chicago, could have proven his case at anytime but has failed to do so. He never will as it is a false complaint.
I visited Crosshill Kennels today and i can tell you 100% it is no puppy mill. I was very happy with the state of his property and the conditions the dogs lived in. I spent approximately 3hrs there with my wife. I am looking for a second GSD for my son to grow up with.
But before buying from Crosshill i did my homework. There are only two negative things on the net about crosshill. This obviously false statement, and the thread on the message board. I contacted each person on the thread that had negative comments but none have gotten back to me.
So after doing my homework i plan on buying a GSD from Crosshill.

Peter is a reputable breeder!!
AUTHOR: Cheryl G - (Canada)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, April 25, 2012
My husband has been involved with GSD for the good part of 30 years as a breeder, trainer, touring show dogs, training tracking dogs, and just raising family pets, he knows the difference between a good caring breeder and a puppy mill, and this is NO puppy mill!!!
It is obvious by your negative comments and lack of knowledge you appear to be on the receiving end of a pup that was passed along far too many times from somewhere; with no training or stability in its life. What is more disturbing and quite obvious is that you have never met Peter, you have never spent time at his kennel and you have never seen the hands on care that each and every dog there receives each day.
I own several GSD out of peters kennel, they are all very healthy, well tempered, and a joy to have in our home. I cannot fathom for one second that Peter would not put his love of a dog before anything.
I have seen puppy mills, and the dogs they produce, shame on you for even suggesting any similarity between the two.
Perhaps Dave, I suggest you jump on a plane, visit the kennel, take a camera and when you get back start writing a long apology to Peter and his good name!!
While you're in the air between O'Hare and Toronto you may want to look up the definition of Libel!!
Peter is a reputable breeder!!

I speak from experience when I went to pick up my German Sheppard!
I do NOT believe that he wouldn't honor his warranty!!!! I personally need to ask u ....I have read Peter's responses to u.....why have u not bothered bringing your dog back to him...he has offered to take the dog?!!! I have owned GSD's for over fifty years and consider myself as a bit of an (amateur) expert on the breed. I am also one of those people who "has to have" more than one GSD at a time. As a result, my daughter Janet and I (after a lot of research) bought a female puppy from Crosshill Kennels in May 2010.
"Ava" is a wonderful, healthy, intelligent, loyal friend and is loved and admired by everyone she comes in contact with. She is also a fine example of what a GSD should look like. I know that it could be said that we all think that our dog is the best, but I truly can't say enough good things about our "Ava".
After after read the posted articles from the gentleman in Chicago, I had to express my support of Crosshill Kennels and Peter Cadman. In our dealing with Peter we found him to be very knowledgeable, forthright and honest. As a result, we will be contacting him in the very near future with regard to the purchase of another dog.

Crosshillkennels kennels- a wonderful experience!

When I told Peter what had happened he was so supportive. The one female puppy we had chosen was a sable shepherd one of 2 identical pups in the litter, she was gorgeous so peter's wife was going to keep one as a pet and the other he sold to us. When he heard what had happened to our sable he offered to replace our pups with 2 similar shepherds from another litter, we were ecstatic- I didn't have the money to replace them up front but he said that was no problem whatsoever, that arrangements could be made later on. He dropped off the 2 puppies to us, that week! (a 3 hour drive).
When he arrived we were shocked to see our puppies twins! His wife felt so bad that she gave up her sable our puppies sister so that we could have her to keep, we were so touched!
Our puppies are now 7 months old- we are constantly complemented on their beauty, intelligence and temperment!
I researched for 2 years before buying a shepherd and I knew I made the right decision when I met Peter.
I refer people to crosshill and will continue to do so. My next shepherds will be from crosshill as they're quality shepherds and customer service are unmatched.
If you do your research like I did, you will find the same and enjoy a wonderful family pet for years to come!

We have not experienced any health problem what so ever! I think the health issue your dog has is just luck of the draw sadly. Friends of ours bought a Sheppard from another breeder and he had the same issue. I don't think it's a "breeder" issue!
I would honestly refer anyone to Crosshills!!! His dogs are great , they are beautiful , and Peter gave us awesome treatment!
I will only ever get another German Sheppard throughout Crosshillls!

Buying a Crosshill Kennels German Shepherd dog from Petar Cadman is a bad gamble
AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, April 20, 2012
The fact is that he:
1. uses poor breeding habits
2. does not do OFA Hip Xray certifcation on his breeding pairs
3. does not do any kind of obedience or temperament testing
4. breeding only for looks, it sells, none of his breeding dogs are involved or titled in anything
5. socializes his puppies poorly
6. in my experience and the experience of others does not back his guarantee
7. is a puppy mill , clean but still a puppy mill
8. is way to expensive for what he offers
9. It's known that his dogs have medical and behavioral problems.
10.In spite of years of complaints has done nothing to correct the above problems
11.Also it has been told to me but not my experience that the puppies in his litters are sometime switched, so make sure you see the puppies with their mother and at a young age
Also ask around the area about this guy Petar Cadman and read the dog shepherd forums, if you do all this and buy a dog from hm and get lucky I'm happy for you, that has not been my experience. Dave

We visited Crosshill Kennels before we decided to purchase from Peter. He is professional, knowledgeable, and hospitable. He invited us into his operation and home without any hesitation. His GSD's are friendly, well behaved dogs, and it is obvious at first glance that they love Peter and are extremely loyal. When we picked up Violet a few weeks later, we left confident that we had made the right choice. Peter has always made himself completely available to us.
Violet is 1 year old now and 82 lbs. Our vet has described Violet as perfect. She is very content and happy on her three and a half acres of property. She is healthy, smart, curious, playful and obedient. A wonderful addition to our family.
My suggestion to Dave-USA, contact Peter Cadman. He loves what he does, he loves his dogs and he is professional.

SUBMITTED: Friday, May 14, 2010
Dave of Chicago still has failed to contact Crosshill German shepherds or Peter Cadman. It is difficult to solve a problem if the party will not communicate with Peter Cadman. As a result I have asked I have asked friends in Chicago to arbitrate this matter. These new friends in Chicago purchased a German shepherd pup from us in winter 2010 and appropriately named him "CANUCK". As stated early, May 2010, I will gladly replace the pup if Dave of Chicago will give us the microchip # of the pup and a medical report from a vet office referring to his problems. We have recently extended our health warrantee to four years unconditionally. I do not know Dave of Chicago, I have never met Dave of Chicago and Crosshill German shepherd never sold Dave of Chicago a German Shepherd Dog .
"Canuck's" Parents: nancy and ward of Chicago wrote: (photo of "Canuck" included)
Hi Peter, Thought you might like to see what your "CANUCK" looks like at 6 months. He is beautiful and big. We are very happy with him, even when he thinks it is cute to steal our shoes. Training is coming along pretty good. Today he took off through the woods behind our house because he heard a neighbor's dog bark. I just stood there and called him a couple times and much to my surprise he came running home to me. You had told us you would send us a 4 generation back pedigree on him. We would love to have it if you can do it for us. He weighed in today at 73.4 and is 26-1/2 inches tall. I am taking him in a six week training class mainly for the exposure to obey commands with many other dogs around. He does socialize with other dogs but I think the fact that he will be in a small area with several dogs will help him and reconfirm obeying my commands. Hope all is well with you and your family. Do you have any new litters? Nancy and Ward

In July 2009 I sold an 8 week old pup to Christine T. of Toronto for $ 1600.00.
Christine T. Phone # (((ROR redacted)))
Christine and her extended family own a Greek- lebonize restaurant in north Toronto.
She visited our kennel with several family members and after a lengthy visit they chose a male pup in the litter of three pups. Christine called me a while later informing me of a family crisis and she and her husband were moving into her mothers home and she wanted to return the pup.
I welcomed the idea and offered to give Christine a puppy voucher to be redeemed when she wanted.
Christine declined my offer and she elected to sell her male puppy. Christine sold her male pup for less than half price in Michigan USA. The poor animal was then delivered to Chicago and sold again. I was later contacted by a third party wanting retribution for a male pup having only one or possibly both testicles not dropped. I assume this is the same guy named Dave, Chicago, Illinois U.S.A.
I have never met DAVE.
