My dog while running around the house bend her nails. She started bleed and I applied presure on her nail for 5 mins. The bleeding stopped.

I decided to take her to the closes Vet which was Petsmart Benfield (a BIG MISTAKE). The nail is bend and I would like for them to clip it off so that it does not get caught and cause a bigger problem. The wound on the nail is very small (pinpoint size). They charged me an office visit which was $33. I was brought into this room and they took my dog to the back for the vet to look at. Thirty minutes later, they came back with an itemized bill of $350. I was totally shock because I had my dog spayed 3 months prior and it was less than $350. I started questioning the bills because it was full of doctor supervision, hospital ward fee, nurse fee, and etc.

I, of course, decined the treatment. They proceded to tell me that my dog is in so much pain that she snapped at them. They try to guilt me into buying $40 of pain medications. I applied pressure on the nail 30 mins prior to this and my dog did not even yelp. Plus, my dog is the friendliest dog which never snap at anyone! At this point, I was very upset that they were lying to me.

I told them just give me my dog back and I will take her first thing in the morning to my regular vet. They brought my dog back and the vet came too. After being there for 45 mins, I saw the vet for the first time. She started to tell me that my dog will get a bone infection if I do not purchase the pain medication and the antibotic. I was so annoyed that I just left.

I went to the front desk (still upset) to pay for my $35 office visit which they did nothing except look at my dog, no cleaning, no nothing. I told the nice front desk lady that they told me my dog snapped and I know they lie to me. She proceeded to go to the back and question the staff. She came back to me and said NO YOUR DOG DID NOT SNAP AT ANYONE! This proof to me that Banfield is lying to me to try to guilt me into buying medication. I will never go back there again and I do not even want to go back to Petsmart. Banfield does not care about the well being of your animal. They just wants your money.

By the way, my dog is running around the house the minute she came home. I had to stop her from running so she does not irritate the nail. PLEASE IS THIS A DOG IN SO MUCH PAIN!

I am very sorry about your experience with Banfield. I worked for PetSmart for 2 and a half years and let me say that Banfield is a seperate entity from PetSmart their mother corporation simply shares building space although they do vet work for petsmart animals. I took two of my animals to Banfield and both of them died so I would not take an animal there either even when I worked for PetSmart I referred people to other vets. However, please do not blame PetSmart for Banfields issues it is not their fault.

If you have a problem with PetSmart for another reason that is fine I am not saying that you have to love PetSmart I worked there and I don't but please don't take Banfields stupidity out on PetSmart.
