I no longer am, but while i worked for Pizza Hut, i worked for about 16 year's. i was a shift manager for over 11 of those year's. In all my year's there i've seen some good, and not so good manager's, and employee's, in recent time's the quality of these people has just gone down hill. The general manager, running the Old Town Pizza Hut, in Kissimmee Florida, his name is Robert Hector, only care's about one thing, his bonus, he will spend as little money as possible on the store, be it product the store need's or fixing anything that is broken. the less money he spend's on these thing's the greater his bonus. the aspect of him not spending money makes what is called a Score Card, look good to his boss, and everyone obove him, no matter that the store is running poorly, the score card give's the illusion that thing's are great, and no one will care to look beyond that. anyhow Robert Hector brought with him two other employee's, one a server, the other, Rachel, a shift manager in training, who by the way was running shift's before she completed her training, and being allowed to wait on her shift's, getting her manager pay rate while doing so.

So i had a meeting with robert hector, all the employee's wer very unhappy with him and the people he brought with him, Rachel was allowing the server that came to old town with her and robert to leave her shift's early, and without doing her sidework, other server's wer forced to complete the sidework, and Robert,..... i let him know that it was not right to talk down to an employee, not only in front of other employee's, but in front of customer's as well, i let him know all the thing's he was doing wrong, from employee treatment, to changing the schedule, and not telling the employee's, then retaliating against the employee's, when they didn't show up for a shift that they did not know they had to work.

but it was all for naught, Robert's way of dealing with these fact's, was typical, admit nothing, deny everything, and blame someone else, because that's what he did, he blamed me for his cruel treatment of the employee's.

thing's went even more downhill after that, i lost my store key's, wich consist of a register key, safe key, and door key. all three are required to run the store. it typically takes about a week or less to get a new set of key's, i'd like to say that i received a new set of key's in that time, but i did not, not only did robert and everyone in the store know that i did not have key's, but Craig Brassard, the Area Coach knew as well, by the way i had a meeting with Craig Brassard as well, i let him know about the issue's at the old town pizza hut, his way of fixing thing's was not to fix them at all, but to get me to transfer to another store, now why would Craig do this, remember the Score Card i was talking about? well it was giving the illusion that Craig's area was doing good, so it was easier for him to try to get me to transfer,quit, or get me fired, than to actually get thing's fixed at the old town pizza hut.

anyhow not only did i not have store key's fore over 4 month's, but robert hector cut my hour's dramatically. i went from 4 to 5 day's a week, to working 2 day's, sometime's 1 day a week, all though, i was lucky that manager's at other store's wer kind enough to give me hour's, it's nice to know that there are manager's that work for pizza hut that are not on a power trip, i mean come on, it's just a title, not an excuse to treat people like dirt. anyhow, back to the issue of my not having key's, if it was not for a fellow employee, Lawrence Dryden, who had a set of door key's given to him by the manager before Robert hector, i would not have been able to lock the store at all, i would have had no choice but to leave the store unlocked overnight every single night that i worked, Lawrence Dryden is such a good person and employee, that a few times he came in on his night's off and waited with me till close and locked the door's fore me, i could never thank him enough, and do you think robert and craig cared? heck no, for all his hard work, all they did was take his door key away, and give it to me month's later, because robert didn't want to waist any money. another issue that could have been avoided if robert had given me key's, on a particular night the computer system crashed, so i was unable to open the register to cash customer's out, on top of that as was typical, we wer out of alot of product, thank's to robert, anyhow we had a future order, the customer put his order in that morning, and was picking his food that night, again the computer's had crashed, so i was on the phone with FMS, when the customer comes in to get his order, since i had no register key's i was left with no choice but to give him his food for free, because he would have ended up waiting almost an hour just to be able to be cashed out, by the way the order was just over$180. and of course, Robert hector and Craig Brassard blamed me for that. also on one of my night's off, the cook's called me at home because on this particular night, robert had a manager from another store, close the old town store, anyhow this manager did not have key's to lock the door's after it was time to close, there was nothing i could do as i did not have key's myself, but i went anyway....needless to say the store was left unlocked overnight, i know this because i and other employee's went to a bar that is next to the old town pizza hut, we left the bar after 3 A.M. and went back to the old town pizza hut and the door's wer unlocked and so it went like this with robert, allway's looking for any excuse to write me up, he knew he couldn't fire me, i was doing nothing wrong, but standing up for the employee's and myself, he would often ask me to transfer, he would get upset every time i said no. anyhow i'm no expert on pizza hut policy, but it is not being followed, craig called me 2 month's ago at home and told me i was fired because i either didn't answer the phone correctly, or because i hung up on the person on the other line a few day's before, because of how i acted toward's him and robert, because i had not taken my food handler's test, which by the way, the first time i was scheduled to take, robert never gave me a book to study, the second time i was scheduled i was in the process of moving, so i did not take the test, and because of that $180. dollar's worth of food i had to give away. it is my understanding that an employee must commit the same offence three times before being terminated, unless say, they are caught either drinking beer while working, stealing money ,....you know what i mean. anyhow i called what i thought was human resources, and told them my issues, and i e mailed the knew Region Coach, Carl VanNostrand, to make him aware of what's happining at the old town pizza hut, he was not much help, he told me there was nothing he could do for me, but that was to be expected, i just wanted him to fix the thing's going on at the old town pizza hut, everyone seem's more interested in sweeping thing's under the rug, now the employee's that are still working at the old town pizza hut, are being treated, and going through the same thing's i went through either because they have been working for pizza hut long enough to know how people should and should not be treated, how thing's should and should not be done, or for simply being my friend's. it's funny, robert hector is alway's preaching that he goes to church, does not steal or lie, yet i have paper work that show's him not only changing his time log to make it look like he is never late, but also him taking hour's away from my time log. but do you think anything will happen to him? he'll get a little slap on the wrist, while other employee's get worse punishment's for lesser offences, myself and another manager who no longer work's at that particular store have personaly caught Rachel, the manager that robert braught with him,stealing money, and again do you think anything will happen? i think not. Robert, Rachel, Amanda, and Craig have done nothing but retaliate against everyone that does not follow there lead, or speak's out against something that they are doing wrong, Robert is able to let his Mother in law work with him, Amanda is able to let her boyfriend work with her, Amanda is another manager by the way, and her boyfriend was fired more than two year's ago from pizza hut, for stealing money, i should know, i'm the one who caught him stealing! I got paper work, picture's,witnesses, what more do these guy's need before they start to fix thing's? can someone tell me please?

As far as being actionable (from The American Heritage Dictionary):

Slander:

1. Law Oral communication of false statements injurious to a person's reputation.

Libel:

1. a. A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation.
b. The act of presenting such material to the public.

I would suggest you use something other than a FREE dictionary site before attempting to describe something that is actionable under US jurisdictions.

Slander doesn't have to be spoken. Good try. Check it out at dictionary.com. Move on. The stress is bad for you.

I did talk to some employees a few weeks back and everything is good. You're not being there may cause kitchen problems during the summer but Everyone thinks it best that you not work there, with the exception of Selina and the mother in law server lady. I don't know you but it sounds like you were more trouble than you were worth. Stress and hatred is bad for you and the body. Let go and move on.

Good try. I did visit the store about 2 weeks ago and all is well with the employees I talked to. Many said they missed you but it was for the best of the store that you not be there. I can't judge myself because I don't know you but the employees seem to be happy you're gone, except Selena and the server lady that's in the same family. All the stress you have over this is really bad for you. Once again, move on!

Hey, what can i say, your right, my grammer is very poor but i promise to work on it.But tell me, was my spelling any good? I'd hate to have you insult me further, i just don't think i could take it. As for my being a shift manager for over 11 year's, it does not mean i have no ambition. it just mean's that i have been around long enough to realise that i can make more money as a shift manager than say, an assistant manager. unless you know about it allready, have you herd of something called chinese overtime? If not find out what you can about it, I promise, you'll think twice about becoming an assistant manager. What i can say is that it's like working for free.

And about my key's, come on, cut me some slack, that was the first time that's happened to me. I know other manager's that would lose there key's 3 or 4 time's a year, and they had them replaced in under a week. I was not so lucky, it took over 4 month's. And please read my first letter again, i never said i was the manager who left the store unlocked overnight, so that i and other employee's could go to a bar. Amanda should remember this particular night. Robert hector treated all the manager's at the old town pizza hut out to lunch, or dinner? I forget which, anyhow he had a manager from another pizza hut close the old town pizza hut. The poor guy was not given key's to lock the store. The employee's called me for help, but there was nothing i could do as i had no key's at that time. And i say again, the store remained unlocked overnight.

I'll say to you what i've said to other's, don't take my word for it, ask all the employee's that worked that night. And as for any holes in my story, let me know what they are, i'll be more then happy to fill them in. Just so you know everything i've said i can back up, and will be glad to do so, Once again i have video, pic's paper work, and witnesses. Thank you and have a nice day.

Raul, you and your friends need to get a life, and a new job. If I was head of this company I would sue all of you for slander! I think losing your keys should be reason enough for termination. There's probably not a policy stating anything about keys but I bet there is one about leaving the restaurant unsecured so you and your friends can go to a bar! After reading your story and comparing to Salena's story, there are so many holes that I don't have the time to comment. Move on.
