Before giving him my check written out for $14 (a tip was included)I asked about my coupon and he proceeded to tell me he was not late. I told him that I ordered my pizza at 12:25 (If you look at my Pizza Hut account now, that is what their website says). The clock Pizza Hut had going for me said my pizza would arrive by 1:05 (so I assumed that was 30 minutes from order placement, but maybe it was 30 minutes past plus the 5 minutes if they were late). Either way, Bill arrived at my door at 1:13; He was 8 minutes late. He argued with me saying his paper showed he had until 1:12 (OK, I know these pizza guys aren't too smart, but I would think they would know 1:13 is AFTER 1:12).
He refused to give me the coupon, so I sent my pizza away. NO WAY am I giving a company with that kind of customer service any of my hard-earned money. I called the manager and she was unsympathetic. She said she could re-send another pizza with the free coupon, but it would be the same driver, and another 45 minutes (How did that benefit me at all after what they pulled?) She got angry with me and started yelling when I said that would not cut it. Since I should have had the coupon the first time, I suggested sending me a pizza and giving it to me free THIS time, but she didn't like that idea.
I wrote a letter to corporate, and this is great! This shows just how much they care. They sent me a coupon for $5. Excuse me, you complete morons, but you STILL owe me at least $15. They have no clue how to keep their customers happy, or they just don't care. Either way, I will never give them another cent and hope that others will see fit to do the same. Too bad, I liked their pizza, but they don't deserve to be making a profit with attitudes like that. I intend to send them back that $5 coupon to show them what I think about it and them.

ANOTHER SPOILED YUPPIE BRAT WITH A BIG PROBLEM
AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

THE WORLD IS NOT GOING TO REMAKE ITSELF ACCORDING TO YOUR SPECIFICATIONS AND YOU ARE NOT THE REIGNING QUEEN B**** OF THE UNIVERSE.
PEOPLE MAKE LEGITIMATE MISTAKES.
IF THE PIZZA WAS HOT WHEN YOU GOT IT, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH.
I THINK YOU PULLED THE TYPICAL YUPPIE STUNT OF WANTING TO GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING AND PULLED YOUR SNIT FIT WHEN YOU DIDN'T.
THE AGE OF THE DRIVER HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING.
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU TAKE YOUR SPOILED LITTLE YUPPIE SELF AND SEE HOW LONG YOU WOULD LAST AS A PIZZA DELIVERY PERSON IN FORT WORT.H. NOT VERY LONG
AND I DON'T THINK THAT YOUR MEASLY $5 COUPON OR THE PATHETIC AMOUNT OF BUSINESS THAT YOU CLAIM TO DO IS GOING TO SERIOUSLY IMPACT CORPORATE AMERICA.,
I WOULD REFUSE TO DELIVER TO YOU AND I WOULD MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE WITH A DELIVERY SERVICE WOULD DELIVER TO YOU EITHER.
THEN YOU WOULD BE FORCED TO COME OUT OF YOUR YUPPIE PLANTATION AND SEE HOW THINGS ARE IN THE REAL WORLD WITH REAL PEOPLE FOR A CHANGE.
YUPPIES ARE THE CURSE THAT GOD HAS PUT ON OUR COUNTRY!
How dissatisfied can you be, you get a $5 voucher for not even buying a pizza! That's free money, we're paying you to be our customer. And for your information, the 30 minute rule was discarded forever ago, no one honors that anymore because it does encourage speeding. The way online ordering works is that the customer places an order through the net and an operator relays it to our store, it is NOT an instantaneous process. Plus it is corporate policy to state APPROXIMATE delivery time, there is absolutely no guarentee that it will arrive at the given time.
In closing, please remember to tip your driver, he knows where you live.

Comment to report & rebuttal

As the the rebuttal by Sara. No one cares what your IQ is, judging by your comments, I find it hard to believe it was that high, which really isn't a score to make someone else feel stupid. 25% of people avaerage a 150 IQ, I'm sure your little test told you that too. Now, I really pitty you. You worked for Pizza Hut.
My family used to be good customers of Pizza hut. We found ordering Pizza great when we were on the run, which with children, is quite frequent. Wes topped ordeing from Pizza Hut for many reasons; they never delivered when we were told, our orders were always (And I do mean ALWAYS) wrong, and the disrespect is absurd. We would call the same number we ordered from and ask for the manager, a kid would get on the phone and tell us sorry but we're busy. I can send another pizza, it will take another 45 minutes to an hour. Of course, if you ordered a pizza, you don't want to have to wait even longer for them to get it right. So, they tell you they won't do anything else. You call or e-mail the corportate office, they ONLY send a $5 off coupon, big deal!!!
In fact, let me tell you of a specific incident with Pizza Hut. A few years ago, when Playstation 1 was big, Pizza Hut did a promo with "You order a pizza, you get a demo disk." Well, the woman came out, my husband asked for the demo, she said, "I dropped it somewhere. You'll have to look for it because I don't have time." We did look, it wasn't anywhere to be found. We called the manager, to find out that they had run out of demo's. So how did she drop it? We never got the demo, never got a coupon, nothing.
I would agree with your statement that Pizza Hut has gone down the tubes. In fact, they are not doing as well as other pizza delivery companies. Why? It's obvious, the product has gotten worse, they charge delivery charges when and for how much the feel like, their rude and disrespectful. No one cares or needs that. I'd give them 2, maybe 3 years before they haven't enough customers to keep them in business. Maybe they should start to think about customer satisfaction a little more.
#6 Consumer Suggestion
False Advertising and Bad Customer Service
AUTHOR: Amy - ()
SUBMITTED: Monday, November 18, 2002
Most Pizza Hut drivers are typically on the younger side. I don't care who is delivering my pizza as long as they are professional about it. As far as not giving them my money for the pizza on that day, I hate to think just how much money I have given them over the years. I am sure I must have ordered pizzas every week or two between here and work.
An even sadder fact is that I have always swayed my co-workers over to Pizza Hut whenever possible. The fact is, once I see that kind of customer service, I'm NOT giving them my money anymore. How stupid would it be for me to give them my money when they just told me they are not keeping their word by giving me a free pizza as promised on their website? This is called deceptive/false advertising and it is illegal. Now, if you yourself had ever tried to order a pizza online, you would see that it is promised as free if over 30 minutes late. You actually have to ORDER it to see this. I have ordered numerous pizzas online from Pizza Hut in the past and am quite familiar with it. You obviously are not.
My complaint with Pizza Hut is geared towards their FALSE ADVERTISING and their BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
