Back in March, I contacted Play Action Customs about having an Arizona Cardinals Kurt Warner Super Bowl action figure done for my parents. In the initial emails Kevin Olinger was very nice and helpful about getting the transaction moving along. I was billed for $65.00 through PayPal on March 21, 2009. Once I paid, that was effectively the end of the communication I had with Mr. Olinger.

As a customizer myself I understand how long these projects can take, especially when there are several in queque. My mistake was not demanding a due date for the figure as this was an optional feature on the order form.

On April 5, I contacted Mr. Olinger about the progess of the order. No response. I sent two more emails on the 10th and 15th.
On April 16, he finally responsed that my emails were inexplicably going to his spam folder. That sounded highly suspicous since the initial emails went to his inbox just fine.

Between May 12th and June 25 I sent four additional emails, including a notification that I was filing a transaction dispute with PayPal. Unfortunately, I filed too late and PayPal has done nothing to help. Mr. Olinger did not respond to any of these emails or notifications. On his website, during the week of June 25th, he claimed computer issues for loss of order information. I contacted him again about the Kurt Warner figure with zero response.

He has time to update his website with new figures, but no time to reply to emails. Lazy is the man who can't even come up with lies to off-put the customer. Do NOT deal with this man. He gives us customizing artists a bad name.

I have kept all emails concerning this matter so to have proof of his unprofessionalism and fraud.

Playactioncustoms issue resolved Kevin Olinger

After emailing from another account inquiring about different possible custom figure and using my middle name, I recieved a response from Mr. Olinger. My return email notified Mr. Olinger that I had reported him to this site and bustathief.com and would take the matter further if necessary. This finally got the ball rolling and after about a week I did get the product I paid for. Mr. Olinger maintains that he replied to all emails that I sent and that he had computer issues. While hotmail accounts are known to screw up from time to time, I did other business during this time with the same account and had no issues. As for computer problems, I do know that that can certainly cripple online business dealings, however once the issue was resolved, logging onto Paypal to retrieve customer information should not have been a problem nor should responding or retrieveing an email address from another online email service (gmail in this case) as I sent many previoiusly mentioned emails to both his playaction account and gmail account.

In the end I do not feel the figure was worth the trouble and it was not quite what was expected.

As with any online transactions, exercise caution in dealing with this business.
