So I typed in returns, and a page came up saying sorry to see you go. I gave my name and license number for a refund, and instead I got an error message saying ' we can't give you a refund because instead of a monthly plan you picked a one time pay plan." But on the SALES PAGE it says 30 days to refund, only the longer you take the less you get back. But it still guarantees a refund.. so I wrote to support who told me they'd get back to me in 24 hours, instead I got a machine-auto letter saying they are evaluating my letter but I should check the technical sites again , and fix my computer so that their equipment works...I don't want to do that..you pay for Netflix, you get a movie, no fuss no problem you dont' have to adjust anything and I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK...these is a devious sneaky lying dangerous company..THEY WOULDN'T REFUND ME IN LESS THAN 18 HOURS...please avoid Playon tv, or Playon television and Playlater (supposed to record to your pc like a tivo)...it's a terrible product and they are stealing my money...if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it..thank you...oh they are owned and run by a huge conglomerate called MediaMall based out of NY, a giant company...but they must need my $60.00, I am very very upset and hope this helps a lot of people

You don't need to be a programmer to run this software; just an ability to follow written instructions, which the OP obviously lacks. I highly doubt PlayOn staff told the OP to "dump" the antivirus and firewall; you just need to create exceptions within them, as is the case with a lot of other software out there. I'll admit that PlayOn has its problems, but to post on Ripoff Report is a bit excessive.

Please if anyone is reading this DO NOT PURCHASE PLAYON TELEVISION, OR ANY OTHER PLAYON PRODUCT. Their product is shoddy and inferior and they don't refund your money.
But they lie and say they will. I am calling Federal Authorities tomorrow...nobody should have to go through this, and look at the nice letter they wrote but they still haven't made a deposit to my bank.
I am going to B.B.B. in N.Y., and if anyone can help legally I would really appreciate it. I am also going to campaign and take out adds to let people know what a ripoff they are. I shall report every few days or if a govt. bureau gives me information that would help bring them down.
Shame on them....

It sounds from your description like you tried to cancel a subscription rather than request a refund. As we have both lifetime and subscription pricing, you may have mistakenly chosen the wrong option. Cancelling a subscription simply cancels any renewal payments, as you have no renewal payments on a lifetime license our system was simply telling you that you didn't need to worry about cancelling. Now, if you'd like a refund on that lifetime license, we can certainly do that. Just email us at support@playon.tv and we'll gladly take care of you. We do not have phone support, but our email support will typically answer you very quickly.
We'll try to make our website more clear to avoid similar confusion in the future.
