Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC Fourscore Resource Capital LLC Received a felonious creditor letter stating I owed some debt from some company, no name given. I looked this company up on line and instantly received a warning on my computer statiing the site was Norfolk, Virginia

It is  important to note that there are many scams out there and this is just one of them.  Scams from Credit Card Fraud to made up debt.  This company is sending out letters without any information as to the validity the debt they claim is owed.  I haven't done business with Sears since 1987, how in the world do they have the audacity to even write someone without any information.  To just say someone owes a debt is hardly reason enough to pay a bill, especially when you don't even have any clue as to what the debt might pertain to, how heart rending for all the people who fall for these scams.  They say I owe $1024.00, yet will take a payoff of $205.00.  Why?  If someone owed me over a thousand dollars I wouldn't settle for 1/4th of the amount.  Ridiculous is what I say!  If you don't think you owe a company money then the chances are you don't, unless someone can prove it without having to ask you to provide them with your information, don't pay them.  File a report or do the research yourself, it's not worth the trouble that ensues when you try to get your money back.
