After we sent them mounds and mounds of paperwork, they never got back to us. 9 weeks passed and I called. They were still working on it. Long story short, after 1.5 years, they said there is nothing they can do. I had had a very small retirement plan which I wasn't supposed to touch until I was 59.5 years old. I was 45 at the time. This would be more money I'd have to pay. That money was to be when I retired. It's all I had. They said I had to take that money out and pay for entire amount, which, by now, since so much time went by without them working on it, I had to pay $28,000. I was furious.
Now they were supposed to be helping me get back the penalties and interest. This has been another nightmare. I call someone name Kay Tse. She never calls me back. I call her co-worker Nayri, and then Kay will answer me with 'no worries Sherri', we are working on it. You'll get back the penalties and interest. Nobody knows who Joe Benfatti is and he's the one that started this whole mess. I think they need someone to shut them down and stop ripping off people who aren't going to be able to make ends meet all because of how they are saving us from the IRS.
Who are they kidding? I am one step away from getting my own lawyer which may happen this week. The Better Business Bureau has already been notifed once and I'll do it again. I've asked to speak to the CEO but nobody knows who that is. how is that? I'm sure this company is done in the back room of a warehouse where they think they won't be uncovered. judgement day is coming for them and all the people they have hurt. Their testimonials are lies also. Just try to e-mail any of those people and they don't even exist. How's that for a scam. Unbelievable. My advice to anyone. use a real tax lawyer and someone you can trust. Definitely NOT Power Tax Relief. The biggest scam going!

Interviewed with Power Tax Relief

The manager told me the owner of the company spends lot of money on advertising. The minimum sale is $3000. The manager told me that his top salespeople have cracked customers upto $25,000. Not bad considering the salespeople are making 25% commission on the sale. Even a $3000 sale will make a salesperson $750.
Power tax relief is a commission based employer only. As an employee, you do not get an hourly wage or salary. As an employee, you cannot have any ethics or morals to work for Power Tax Relief. You have to be cold, cruel person to work there. The employees will do anything to make money. They will overcharge your credit card/checking account so that they can make a decent paycheck. If the salespeople cannot get any money out of you, they do not make anything. YOu have to be really crooked to work for this company.
Last night, I saw their ad on TV and I was amazed how fraudlent businesses continue to advertise. They do lot of advertising on late night television. I thought it was a low budget ad but it works. Power Tax Relief uses testimonials from clients that they have helped. Power Tax Relief did help some taxpayers thru an OIC saving them a lot of money. Very few OIC's are accepted by the IRS. I talked to offer examinar of the IRS and she told me that less than 10% of OIC's are accepted. Power tax relief uses the testimonials from clients whose OIC was accepted. The majority, over 90%, are rejected. As a result, Power tax relief will ignore the majority of clients and only do work for clients where an OIC is probable.
I could not work for a fraudlent business in a fraudlent industry. I interviewed to learn more about the tax resolution business. SInce I was ripped by JK harris & Co, I am determined to put the tax relief industry out of business. I am taking JK Harris & Co to small claims court and am protesting outside their local offices.
Lets put this industry out of business.

I was ripped by JK Harris & Co. And, I will be taking them to small claims court. I am also protesting outside one of their nationwide offices. I am determined to put this industry out of business.
Don't hold your breath, it will never happen... Just file the complaints at the BBB and Attorney general, move on or join the fight against Power Tax relief.
I'm about a month away of having some time to allocate to this issue and my personal experience with them, they SCAMMED and ripped me off to the tune of $25k!
They are indeed a complete, total scam, the epitome of the word!!! I'd be willing to bet the next edition of Webster's Dictionary will have Power Tax Relief under the definition of Scam, ripoff, etc.
Kay Tse is a joke, LIAR and a fraud! I'm a firm believer in Karma, and she will have her day!!!!
Best of luck...

Response to Client

When the client initially retained us, she claimed that she owed additional taxes for 2003 due to the fact that underreported their income. However, after digging deeper, we found out that that was not the case.
The taxpayer claimed that she made an "honest mistake" on her 2003 taxes. However, we expressed to the taxpayer that it would be difficult to persuade the IRS that it was an honest mistake. She filed her 2003 taxes and inflated her income tax withheld, from $19,691 to $37,500, which ultimately inflated her year end tax refund. When we asked her where she got her figure from, she claimed that it was a clerical error. However, if that was the case, then she knew she was not entitled to a large refund. But, she cashed the check anyway and it wasn't until the IRS caught up with her that she did claimed it was an innocent mistake.
We have since tried to fight with the IRS to negotiate, but we had no response to their question: ultimately, why did the taxpayer cash the refund check if she knew it was erroneous? Since the taxpayer could not provide us with a valid answer, we knew we could not proceed with the case.
We care greatly about the satisfaction of all our clients and that is why even after all the work and time and effort put into this case, we still provided her with a refund.
