I have been meaning to share this info for sometime but have not gotten around to it. Approximately one year ago I purchased a female Shih Tzu from Precious Puppies for $1100.00. I had been warned by a friend that they have a history of selling sick puppies. Most Pet Stores depend on impulse buyer's which is what happened to me.
The first thing that happened was that the puppy was very sick when I got her home. She had nasal drip cough and blood in her stool. I did not even bother to take her back but I did bring her to my vet were I bring my other two Shih Tzu's. He said these kind of things are very common when you buy from pet stores. The bill was only a couple hundred bux so I did not even bother trying to get reimbursed.
When I got home I started to look my paperwork over and noticed that the puppy was not AKC Registered. It was some BS kennel club that you can pay like $50 dollars to register your dog. I looked them up and they did not even have a website. I guess I should of asked but for $1100 dollars I would of expected that they were AKC registered.
Next is the most serious of issues. I started playing around on the net to see what I could find out about the breeder that was on the puppy's paper's. I searched the so called breeders name and as it turns out that it was a large well known puppy mill that has had several claims for animal neglect. Precious Puppies flat out lied when I asked they purchase from puppy mills. This place is so misleading because its very nice inside compared to most pet stores but behind the scenes they will take advantage of you and rip you off.
Overall we are happy with the dog, but I will mention that our Shih Tzu is full grown and only weighs 7lbs which is small for a Shih Tzu. If anyone needs help or more info please feel free to email me I have all the details. I strongly hope that people catch on to this place and do not support and pet store that buy's from puppy mills.

We found out about this breeder and are no longer working with him!But all pet stores are not BAD ,these puppies are loved on and spoiled every chance we get.we weigh every puppy every day to make sure they are putting on weight as they should,which is more than i can say for other pet stores.other pet stores let puppies DIE in the back room from parvo or some other illness.so before you bring down a pet store that REALLY cares for the puppies,go after the ones that are letting little ones die and not even blink twice cause they can get a replacement(sick word they use) puppy from the "BREEDER" they use.
