I just purchased a new house and was told by the inspector the garage door would need attention.  He pointed out the safety lasers not working properly.  So I was prepared to make this right at a reasonable cost, but I know nothing about garage doors.  So I called these guys after seeing good reviews on google.  I was quoted a price of $650 to keep the same springs, or brand new springs with a lifetime warranty for $850.  I sounded really high, but I was distracted by people at my house and that I just want to get this fixed before moving in later this week.  I said go-ahead, and immediately regreted it.

I began to feel something was wrong because my technician did not give me a quote for everything I wanted done from the get-go, since I told him i wanted remotes and an outside door entry pad.  This should all be quoted up front but he just began working, and after an hour my bill was $800+, come on man.  I began searching the internet and saw this should have only cost 200-300.  I began to haggle as much as I can as he wanted to charge for every thing antoher 90 here and 30 here.  He showed me the invoice and he had 'given me' a $269 discount, but the final price was still $869!

I should have told him to take a hike from the get go, but all I can do now is file this and spread the word to all of the landlords I know across the area.  Fortunately, I also work for a professional services firm with a huge real estate practice and I will telling everyone I know to avoid this company like the plague.

safety lasers ( sensors )

You said the home inspector pointed out the safety sensors were not working properly. That has NOTHING to do with the springs. Thats like having a bad exhaust in your car so you change out the air in your tires!  Sensor replacement typically cost about $90.00 They scammed you. SPREAD THE WORD

Totall ripped off by these guys for the service and overcharged.  Will be disputing. Parts, labor, eveyrthing was too much and high pressure sales tactics left me intimidated and just wanting the technician to leave my home.  I'll be spreading the word to property owners and my network of real estate companies, since I work at a professional services firm with a practice in this area.
