I did an IQ survey on the net and next thing I know, I am getting these texts to my cell phone. I called Verizon and they would not take off the $9.99 charge, but gave me 800-360-0518 to call them. Get this!, they are in the Phillipines for christ sake!! Anyway, they told me 'to get a refund you need to file with our corporate office' and they would forward my case to them.
I got this email the next day..."Thank you for contacting our Customer Service Department. As per your request, your account was cancelled and no further billings will occur, as a former member you are still eligible to participate in the year-end $50,000 sweepstakes drawing. The terms and conditions for billing are clearly stated to customer both at the time of sign-up and after validation (please feel free to visit http://www.predictomobile.com/index.cfm?fuse=memberterms for more information). The $9.99 fee is non-refundable, we are very sorry to see you go and hope that you decide to join our service in the future. Best Regards, PredictoMobile.comCustomer Service 800-360-0518". Needless to say, this is a "form" email response, I am, at this point, furious!
So, I get on the internet and low and behold I find A LOT of other people with the same problem I had. So, I called the customer service again and told them they better get me my money back, that I had had a long talk with Verizon Wireless who was going to start an investigation into them and I would start a class action suite if that is what it takes. They put a supervisor on and she said that I would get a check back for the 9.99 in two weeks.
Don't let these people push you around and report this to your cell company and let them know that if these are the kind of people they are going to deal with that you don't want to deal with them. If enough people band together, we can stand up to crooks like this.
