Corporate Advocacy Program™
I contacted Clark Howard (a consumer advocate here in atlata, ga) and they suggested I contact all three credit reporting agencies and ask PPC to send me a detailed report proving that we did, indeed make the calls. Ive done that, and of course, have gotten NO responce back via email from PPC regarding the proof.
Yesterday, (saturday, 11-13-04) we got our phone bill, and we have SIX calls to the UK, all on the same day as one of PPC's billed dates, totalling $71.64. The billing companies look like USBI at 888-474-8724, and/or TELLISS at 877-770-2022.
We don't even have long distance on our land line. We use our cell phones for that.

This is what I wrote to "john" at PPC...
John,
Thank you for putting the block on my line. The local phone company, and TELLISS has already done so as well. If you recall, I ask you to provide proof that we acknowledged the terms and conditions you say we agreed to, you have failed to do so.
As far as payment goes, I will not pay this amount that you say I allegedly owe. Through much research and investigation, I know that this is fraud, and a scam. Following the advice of my attorney, I have lodged a complaint with the IFCCFBI, the USPS for mail fraud, the FTC, the New Hampshire Department of Justice, the Georgia Department of Justice, the Texas Department of Justice, the FCC, the Attorney General, and all three credit reporting agencies.
If this is turned over to a collection agency, and my credit is in any way damaged because of this fraud, your company will be sued for damages.
I expect full credit to my account, (blank) promptly.
Also, I want information on how to remove the software from my computer. It says on your website to contact you and you would tell us how to remove it.
Below is a formal letter stating that we will in no way pay this fraudulent bill. This letter will also be sent to you via certified mail.

To Whom it may concern:
I have been contacted by your company about a debt you allege I owe. I am instructing you not to contact me further in connection with this debt. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, a federal law, you may not contact me further once I have notified you not to do so.
Sincerely,
John P
I have not mailed certified yet, but I will still send them this letter tomorrow--just in case!
This was thier responce:
Dear John P,
I have issued you credit on your bill, you do not owe anything and no further collection actions will occur. I do apologize for the billing error and any inconvenience it may have caused.
Regards,
John

HA!
Now, since I have noticed in new posts, they have a new P.O. Box-- I will look for a new bill from them under a new name.
Thanks everyone for your posts, information, and help! And thank you Rip Off Report!

When I got my local phone bill I had an additonal bill from USBI and charges from two other companies...Tellis and One Call Comm. Totaled over 400 dollars. I contacted them and also ended up getting the matter resolved. They are charging me for 30 calls made to the UK, funny thing is that the calls they claim I made were made first, when I wasn't even home, and secondly, when premier premium has me making the calls on the same date at the same time. So, how can it be that I dialed two different numbers from 2 different companies at the exact same time?
When I called One Call, they at first were reluctant to remove the charges, that is until I told them that I had done my research and was aware that they were currently in a lawsuit with the FCC over the matter. That changed their minds very quickly.
Tellis also removed my charges when I told them that I would under no circumstances pay the bill and that I want a credit.
I also went ahead and filed a complaint with the FCC, FTC, BBB, and my states Attorney General. I suggest you do the same. It's obvious from this site and many others that this has become a HUGE problem for consumers all over the nation.

Also, I have spoken this morning with TELLISS about the charges on my phone bill, and flat told them that I will NOT pay the charges that they were fraudulent, and without any argument, the operator credited my account.
