Geraldine, I too have been screwed by this company repeatedly. I finally gave up and left this job. One reason they take so danged long on paying employees is the damned human element called the supposed pay roll department and their HR manager needs a brain transplant big time. They even screw over the RMs and I have a friend who was a former one who could tell you the hore stories regarding that. Her name is Linda Eisenbels spelling sorry.

Any ways story short I got accused of crap my twin identical twin brother pulled at a Walmart here, Walmart calls PRS corporate and poof there goes my lousy excuse for a job that wasn't even part time hours. It was $$ tho so w/e but it sucks. Of all the merchandising firms I've worked with this one has got to be the worst.

Even the operator at corporate has an attitude problem and I can't tell you how many times she's raised her tone with me or hung up on me flat out. That lady needs psychological help big time. The execs do as well. It all boils down to money money money and we could care less about the people who get online weekly, drive god knows how many miles to and from stores doing our "dirty work" aka merchandising for us and our clients. ARG.

W/E piss and puke on you big time PRS. FYI I still know and am friends with a lot of the peeps at our Walmart here and my replacement is 10 times worse then I was at this job and the dept. managers have had it up to here with your shoddy work and crap. I'm bout ready to call one of your biggest clients Sommerset entertainment and pull the plug on that contract, get you banned from all the Walmarts and more. I can and I will. I'm taking names and complaints and hiring an attorney see you in court a** holes.

Premium Retail Service not so premium

AUTHOR: coastal merchandiser - ()

First of all, I called this number 1-866-487-9243. That is the number to the D.C. office of the dept of labor. I had some questions about some of the company's policies, so I called that number. They were able to answer some, the others, they gave me a number for the branch office near me. I called that number, and they were able to answer the others.

I had 3 questions. All of them concerning company business I was conducting, but not being paid for. One- spending time reading and replying to emails. Two- Drive time. Three- time entering reports.

Question 1- reading emails-- I was told that this is compensable time. I am conducting company business relevant to a project assigned to me. My distric manager sometimes goes on a rampage, and will send out email after email, and it will take a considerable amount of time to read and respond.

Question 2- drive time-- the drive from home to your first jobsite, and then from your last jobsite to home is not compensable time. But, if you're doing multiple jobs for the company, the same day, but at different locations, then the drive time from jobsite to jobsite is compensable. In other words, the time from jobsite 1 to jobsite2 to jobsite3 ect, ect, is compensable.

Question 3- reporting time-- Yes you should be paid for this time. The reason being, not only do you get paid by entering the report, but the company gets paid by you entering the report.

That's what all I found out, and I'm making the info available. It's your choice as to what you do with it.

There are better companies to work for.

AUTHOR: Sheldon - ()

I currently do work for PRS, but after the first of the year, I'm thinking seriously that I'm going to kick PRS to the curb.I haven't had any problems with getting paid, but you have to watch out. If you're not careful they'll try and get you to do assignments, that will cost you more to do, than what you'll make. If you try to decline an assignment, your district manager will try to itimidate you into doing the job. My advice is, don't back down. Stand your ground. If you get canned, merchandising companies are a dime a dozen. You can find jobs with another company in a very short time.. The district managers could care less about the reps. All they care about is meeting their numbers.

PRS hires you as a w-2 employee, but you end up spending a good bit of time at home, performing clerical duties that you don't get paid for, even though you're a w-2 employee. PRS is being sued in the state of California for this very thing  Just google premium retail services lawsuit. You also spent quite a bit of time reading and responding to the constant barage of emails from your district manager. Again, even though you're a w-2 employee, you're not getting paid for the company business that you're conducting while reading and responding to those emails. You also are not getting paid for the time you spend entering youur reports, and some of the reports can take a considerable amount of time to enter.

Bottom line, there are better companies to go work for. Eventually, the company's practices will catch up with it, and no one will want to work for them.

"Professional"

AUTHOR: Roger Rabbit - (United States of America)

We have a case of the pot calling the kettle "Teflon."

Professionalism means not posting confidential information on a public site.  Posting confidential employment information, specifically as it might refer to firing someone has legal implications.  If someone is trying to attempt to talk about a professional and respectful company, stating that a person was fired due to cause and then dredging up information as to the reasons is neither professional, nor is it wise from a legal perspective.   Posting such information is almost always a reason for justifiable dismissal from most companies.  The judgment of posting confidential information is not wise.

Most people do understand that complaint sites do have a disproportionate number of complaints.  Those satisfied rarely post.  Many people who complain have unjustified complaints.  A recent study of customer service showed that the greatest number of customer complaints came from those that were unjustified.  And many who go to these sites are predisposed to believe them.  Or any who have an evenhanded approach can "see through" those whose claims are so preposterous to be untrue.

Sometimes it's best not to respond to some complaints, especially when by doing so, one exposes a company to liability by opening up confidential employee files!

Gabi C just another noob and suck up.

AUTHOR: Dave - (USA)

You'll find out soon enough and eat your own words. See what you ain't got is proof that any of what you said is true. Myself I have actual proof, in person accounts, documentation, recordings of dates, times and all phone calls, call logs, store managers and others who back me up 100% on this, former RMM's who would also love to kick the butt of PRS in the courts etc. So where is your proof? I also have people from more than 6 states fyi read all the reports on here who are saying the same thing do not work for PRS or you will get screwed over, underpaid, harassed and mentally etc. tormented. If it's not true why are we all posting this stuff? Seems to me you're just another alias for Sue a corporate suck up. You'd better check your facts before you take on the bunch of us who have proof.

Not one word is true...

AUTHOR: Gabi C - (United States of America)

Dave, I've read your rants and those of your followers with interest (and a lot of giggling) because it all sounds so implausible, and yet you started a thread that's gone on for over three years and brought every lunatic in six states out to dance around the bonfire with you.  I find this astonishing.

It might have been possible to swallow a twin identical twin brother who pulled crap in a store had you not gone on to prove unequivocally via your commentary that you can be aggressive, abusive, and appear to have no qualms about manufacturing data as it suits you.

PRS field specialists - whether merchandising, demo, or RTA - represent the company in the field.  We are the company!  We are judged by our attitude, by our behavior, by our integrity, by our skills, and by our ability to execute all aspects of any project accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining excellent relationships with store management and clients.  We are also reviewed routinely by store managers and clients alike, and provided with constructive suggestions as to how we can improve service.  The company's standards are incredibly high, and it does not surprise me a bit that not every new-hire can be successful in an environment where excellence is not hoped-for, but required.

No pay, no replies, and mental cruelty

AUTHOR: Shopper - (United States of America)

With Premium Retail, so far my hours weren't recordedand I'm aware that I probably won't get paid for job that appears to have been dropped.

It is true that Crossmark, Sears Holdings, and all these marketing companies use all these subversive tactics such as, not returning calls, not paying, or makiing you think oyu won't get paid, and not responding to calls when it's an emergency, and even, saying that you're spamming them as they ignore urgent calls from  you. Then, when I do get a hold of someone in HR, they are completely dumb or angry about even being called.   It's not the field supervisors one has to worry about, necessarily, it's the misinterpreting, mean people in the corporate headquarters of these companies. They fire the best people over a minor argument, slight, or to cover butt about a small mistake the head honcho field supe really made. These companies take the wrong people for fools, push overs, and naive

So far, I'm going to see if I don't get paid for all hours worked in the last two weeks. Andif I'm don't get paid, I will add thsi Premium to the list of companies like these marketing ones, that have not only scammed me, but have driven me to a therapy program to find out why these companies I've worked for have been so hard on me.

Nothing is worse than being happy with a new job one has  found, only to find out, they planned not to pay you, and even worse, outsource your ID [much like sellingit] to those overseas call center reps, or viciously mentally torture you into thinking they are screwing you, testing you to see if you'll think they are screwing you, and other evil, mean tactics to get into you medical files[ Crossmark will do this ].

Crossmark, Warehouse Demo Services, Sears Holdings [not the true Sears that has ethics}, are all staffed in HR with paranoid, naracisstic, unstable people who just cannnot handle your issue, however slight.

Wow People is Waking Up

AUTHOR: Nicky36 - (United States of America)

Hi,
I still work for Premium Retail Services. Have worked for them almost 8yrs. I have done setups and went back the next day because I had maxed my hours out and finished it and didn't turn any time in for the second day. Yes I guess I am crazy. I have been told by several employees that I was. No the reason I didn't get finished was not because I am extremely slow. It was because it was suppose to be a 2-3 person job and my RMM telling me that HQ is going to be so upset that it took that long. Hey really why? It was suppose to be a 2-3 person job to start with and because I couldn't get it done by myself in one day they are going to be upset. Don't understand. That's not the worst of it. When you do things like that and then when work is slow. Do you think they remember that, and try to give you a little more work. Nope it goes to who ever there pet is at the time. If the RMM gets ticked at you for something unrelated to your job. Forget it. You won't get hardly any work if any at all. I hoped some of you who are talking about a lawsuit goes thru with it. Let me know and I will join you. They couldn't possibly be any worst company out there. I have called my RMM and ask her about a certain job. She has told me she didn't know anything about it. She hadn't done one before, and just do what I can. I am sorry. If your boss don't know how does HQ expect you to. If they don't care any more about the company than to not try to research and have answers for the field person when they call. Why are they getting paid so much more than we are. I guess if you can pull the wool over HQ eyes and no body complains about it. You should get paid more LOL. Does anyone know if they are such a thing as raises with this company? I have never got one and been with them over 6yrs. Have been called at the last minute to work weekends if I am ask at all. Usually it is just put on my scheduled for me to work when my RMM wants me to work weekend.

Just avoid working for out of town merchandising firms period.

AUTHOR: Dave - (USA)

PRS, Crossmark, Mosaic, Rocky Mountain Merchandising, Prism etc. just to name a few all suck, all pay low and all treat their "employees" like androids who just do what we are told to do and if we question it even "nicely" HQ has a fit. We are not here to do your dirty work merchandising firms and I mean all y'all. Stop treating us like over worked and under paid wage slaves who you can treat like crap. Enough is enough. I can see so many law suits and litigations coming to where the stores themselves will start suing you starting with your biggest international client Walmart. And Walmart has enough issues to deal with and the way they treat their own employees without having to shovel your crap as well Merchandising firms of America. But be ware many of us former or current workers of yours are studying up on the laws, filing the paper work in the courts and contacting the media. Your days in court are coming and we will win.

Premium should get sued.

AUTHOR: Dave - (USA)

Thank you Sk8termom it's nice to know I'm not the only former rep who's been screwed by this company. In fact I'd recommend you move on over to crossmark merchandising who's been in business way longer and who's reputation is far better and greater and their HQ is in TX not MO who know how to treat the customer, client and ultimately employees better then this wannabe company called PRS. Gotta be great my ass. F off PRS I'm sure more of your employees or former employees would spew on here the truth if they had the balls to do so. I'd hope in our law suit when it is filed we can get the IRS, BBB, FTC and FCC to investigate everything from the recorded phone calls to the HR and pay roll paper work etc. Don't go all Enron on us and burn the evidence. As far as my "firing" that part is true but the reasons surrounding it are false. They never fully investigated both sides. Took Walmart's word for it not mine and screwed me out of my job. Hello ever heard of the right to a fair trial by a jury of my peers? Hmm you can't even abide by the U.S constitution is it any wonder you rip off your nobody employees in the field yet your HQ workers get treated like royalty? Hmm seems a bit unfair to me. Screw the almighty dollar start giving a damned about your workers or we will see fit to drag your butts through the courts etc. By the way this has not only been stated on Rip off reports website but I heard of another employee who had the national media investigate PRS as well and it was on like the top 12 worst companies to work for etc. per some categories in the USA.

Premium Retail Services Scams their employees

AUTHOR: Sk8ermom - (United States of America)

Wow Dave some of the things you said are so true.  I have worked for Premium for 6 yrs now and I would have to agree with you it is all about the Corporate Office making money not the reps doing the jobs.  They simply DO NOT CARE about us.  The lady Sue that gave the rebutal about you is truely snowed by Premium or makes darn good money to protects Premiums A**.  Your right the lady that answers the phone is dumb as a brick her only response to anything is to call your RMM.  and on top of that she is rude to boot.  A few weeks ago while having an issue at a store and my RMM's phone line was down I called the office and asked if there was anyone else I could talk to she told me no and I needed to learn to COVER MY A**.  The heck with the client standing in front of me or the fact that half the time my RMM never returns a phone call or I have gotten the excuse I can't talk right now I have to register my kids for school.  Meantime I am standing at the store and have no clue what to do because someone in CORPORATE did not write the instructions properly.  Now lets talk about the so called 10.00 an hour they pay their reps.  NO IT"S NOT it's 7.25 per hour so that Premium does not have to pay into Social Security or pay the correct FEDERAL Tax amounts.  The other 2.75 is for all the driving wear and tear on your vehicle and God knows what else you have to do to your car.  Wow 2.75 I wonder how much the President or CEO of Premium Retail makes to cover the 3.50 per gallon at the pump these days.  I am sure he makes more then 7.25 and hour and makes sure that his hourly salery is more then 7.25 an hour.   I also bet he makes sure that Federal taxes get paid fr him and that money goes into Social Security so that when he retires he has what is called money in that account.  I am surehe makes HR do his payroll correctly.  Anyone who thinks that treating an employee that way is a great Company needs to have their head examined.  Premium has already gotton in trouble for not paying overtime a few yrs ago and had to go back and pay their employees.  Well guess what someday Premium will end up having to pay into Social Security for all the employees that they screwed over and I hope that the Frederal Government nails them to the wall.  Oh and by the way Sue please pass this on to the new President/CEO of Premium  Retail Services so he can see how horrible he pays his employees meanwhile don't forget we "Gota be Great"

Just Because Someone Has a Keyboard Doesn't Mean They Type the Truth......

AUTHOR: Sue - (U.S.A.)

Premium Retail Services has been in business since 1985 and they employ thousands of good people all across the country. I personally have been employed by Premium Retail for ten years and during my ten years I have found the company to be nothing but professional & respectful to their employees! Premium is well known as a leader in the industry not just for providing GREAT service to their clients, but also known as a GREAT place to work!

Dave was indeed a former employee of Premium, and although he indicates, I finally gave up and left this job, this is NOT the case. He was FIRED for cause. Dave is correct in stating he contacted our offices, but what he neglects to mention is the unprofessionalism and profanity that he used when contacting our offices. Based on his crude and unprofessional blog to this website it should give you a good feel to the caliber of person he is.

Websites such as Rip Off Report are great for giving people that have legitimate complaints a place to go and voice them, but please know that just because someone has a keyboard doesn't mean they type the truth.
