I suffered your kind during the vietnam era. You feign benevolence, it is a disguise for aid and comfort to the enemy. If you dislike America so much, leave. That is, if you are really in America. We will survive without you.
"This I will defend" There is no country like the United States of America. I have been to many countries and everytime I return home I kiss the ground and thank God for America. We that are born free take so much for granted. It has made some of us lazy and expect the government to provide for us. This country was built on strength and work and sacrifice not handouts.
Think about this, in many countries you would already have been tortured and killed, at the least inprisoned for life, just for saying the things you said. In a free society you expect parasites to live off the sweat of others, it comes with the territory. I don't like it either, but I will risk my life to defend it. I have been watching the state campaigns and am sickened by the number of crooks and thugs running for office. The last thing our sons and daughters need in this hour is people reminding us of the negative.

And I'm still serving. Jeaneski is right. The parents of the 10 year old are at fault for not dressing the boy appropriately. You made a mistake assuming that you can wear anything you want anywhere you want but, when that mistake is brought to your attention you should walk away.
Many Americans have given to their country but thinking you can just trample the very principals you fought to protect is just dumb. It's a duty and an honor to serve, America owes you nothing for that privilege except Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

....and nothing came up regarding the white house dress codes. I feel cheated.
BOY never thought I would say that but he makes perfect sense - You go the White House and you dress appropriately period. AND if they had visited Buckingham Palace they would have been turned away as well.
All this bruhah for nothing - JOE was not ripped off period! MY first Generation Grandfather enlisted at the age of 34 during WWII and spent 3 years sleeping on the White House Lawn protecting the President and all personnel. I dare you to sleep on the White House lawn in all types of weather. And I thank God everyday for him.

Kidding aside, this whole thing is blown so out of proportion, it may set a record here.
I have a simple question. Where there any white children allowed in that were wearing a tee shirt and shorts?
If so, then perhaps there was discrimination.
If not, perhaps it had nothing to do with race, but simply that there is a dress code that applies to everyone? I mean this is the White House, not a Chuck E Cheese. Granted they should have allowed the kid in or got him a jacket to use..but to blow this into a racial issue or anti-American soap boxing is ludicrous.
Some may ask why the grieving family did not have the sense or respect to properly dress the child for an event like this at the White House?

If you have never served in the U.S. Military personally, you will never get it.
But that's OK.
All military veterans should be treated with respect and dignity --especially Medal of Honor recipients.
That decoration is supposed to mean something.
But given these times and conditions, I am not sure if anything means what it used to any more.

I think that is the reason so many of our troops are committing suicide nis they realize that they are NOT defending our country, our people or even our way of life but they are there as medical experiments, a pretext for the military-industrial complex to make money with no-bid contractors...
The War in Vietnam was fought to keep the opium flowing freely from Burma and other places the poppies were grown --primo weed too, by the way.
I think the War in Afghanistan was fought for similar reasons. Lots of money in dope and it won't get legal until the rich and powerful people who make the money off of it now have things in place to regulate and make money selling it.
I can't tell you very much about Jesus aka Yeshua aka Joshua bar Yussif.
All I know is what I read in the Book about him that the Christians wrote. A copy was thrown at me and I kept it. Nice book. Horrible people.
In the U.S. Army when I was in there, we were told repeatedly that the only color in the Aeny was GREEN --that was before the Desert and Digital Camo days.
I think it is sad that Obama is supposedly the Commander in Chief and appears to care less about the job .
Bet he made a great impression on the little 10-year old boy whose grandfather was the Medal of Honor recipient and was not allowed into the White House after he had been invited to see it.
Sounds like we are starting to be run like the Queen Mary 2, more on Admirality Law and British palace protocol than like our own American way of doing things!

It seemed IRONIC to me that the family of the African American Medal of Honor recipient was snubbed by a man who claims to be the First African American President, especially after they were invited to the White House.
As for me, I enlisted ( was NOT drafted) during the Viet Nam War --went in and came out as an E-3 with no particular ambition except to get out of the military alive. Never took a dime from the VA either -- do not like and do not trust them. Persons who served in the military will know exactly what I mean.

My Paternal Grandfather served in France during WWI and my Maternal Grandfather served in WWII protecting the President and he was a first generation American.
I highly doubt that you served in any war because all you do is bitch about anything and everything!
Thanks to all the service members, police, fire and first responders who protect and serve us without thinking of themselves as heroes - because they are just doing their jobs.

It's too bad Karl didn't expand on his post to include more information. I think that's a first! There were actually five previous presidents whose ancestry included African Americans: Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, Warren Harding and Calcin Coolidge. This information was well publicized before the election so it shouldn't be news to anyone. Obama's heritage includes three of four grandparents who were Muslim, and one who was black. That makes him 6.75% (roughly) black. That he chooses to identify himself as black is entirely his choice and, I suspect, based more on his physical appearance than anything else. The rules under the census bureau have been changed such that a person can identify him/herself as anything they wish. You don't need to prove your heritage or go by your physical features (as previous rules designated).
As for the OP..... my heart goes out to the young man that was denied access. I come from a strong military family and believe that all veterans, regardless of race, should be honored appropriately. Double that for recipients (not "winners") of the medal of honor. However, there IS such a thing as decorum, and I believe that the young man's family could have dressed him appropriately for such a visit. This is just another example of how America is going downhill. It starts with the little things like good manners and the social graces, and snowballs until we find ourselves where we are today: sex and violence are popularized, family values eroded, churches empty but the jails are full, and so on. It saddens me to know my grandchildren will have to try and straighten this out.
And I don't think Obama's race has anything to do with the decision. The White House is a symbol of our country and should be respected as such, regardless of what idiot sits in the oval office.
