at its best!

If you think Priceline is a good deal, think again.  This is the first and very LAST time I will go through Priceline for anything.  If you value personal service and help and "customer service" (english speaking) above a savings of $20 dollars or so, think twice before using these people.

I booked a flight and a rental car through this site.  You don't get to chose anything as far as flight times or connections or airlines.  And you don't find out this information until after you have paid.  Since my flight left at 6 am and I had to be at the airport at 5 am and I am 3 hours from the airport....  But I not complaining about this.  It is a "just so you know".

I had an emergency at home and had to cut my trip short.  I lost my return ticket (non-refundable) and had to purchase a new ticket which cost as much as the roundtrip ticket.  Then I returned my rental cat 5 days early and have been informed that there will be no refund for that.  And I was also informed that I was informed that this was non-refundable.  Well, ya know what??  They don't tell you this until you have PAID!!

They are a terrible, terrible business.  If you want a truly safe and relaxed vacation,  go to a reputable travel agent or book directly with the airline and rental agency.   Priceline is not reputable!!  BAD, BAD company!!

If I can save 20 good, honest people from being ripped off as I was, I will consider my $500 LOSS not quite as painful.  Some companies will work hard to help their customers and KEEP their customers.  Priceline is NOT one of those companies!

I am not and never have been employed by priceline. I also do not get paid to write rebuttals, but if you do know where I can get paid to write them I would gladly take such an easy job. Alas, I write these in my spare time while browsing the internet. I work for a food processing plant as a chemist in case you actually care.

As for the rest of your rebuttal, I'm not trying to be callous just educate people. Before inputting your credit card number and clicking "I agree to the terms and conditions" on any website, you should actually read the terms and conditions. In this case, you would have found out that you were getting discount rates at the trade off of them being non-refundable. You clicked that you agreed to those terms and went ahead with your purchase. I suppose you often sign your name to contracts without reading them too don't you? As for the name calling, I suppose I should expect that from someone who wants to blame everyone else but themselves when something bad happens. Tell me again how it was priceline's fault that you lost your return ticket? Did priceline send someone in your hotel room at night to steal it from you?

Priceline employee?

AUTHOR: Bella - (United States of America)

So do companies actually PAY you to write rebuttals?  You sound like someone who would work for Priceline.... callous idiot!  Seems like on every complaint the very first comment is some jerk saying "you should have known better...".   Maybe I should have known better.  Maybe I should have done many things differently..... like NOT USE PRICELINE!!  Sorry if I am not as brilliant as you seem to think you are.  I'm just a normal person who had a terrible and expensive experience with a terrible company and just want other "normal" people to also be aware of who they are dealing with.  I don't want others to go through the same experience.  But I will make Ripoff Report my first stop before using an on-line company.  And as far as you are concerned, you are just another thorn on the tree of life.  Go get a real job you jerk!!

terms and conditions

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

Did you bother to read the terms and conditions? When you book on their website, it asks you if you agree to their terms and conditions. This is BEFORE you pay. Those terms clearly spell out that your airfare and rentals are non-refundable. Its common knowledge that these discount travel websites all offer non-refundable travel. Its not their fault you had an emergency. Its not their fault you lost your return ticket. They didn't make you buy another ticket to go home early....

Your advice is sound though, if you can't handle non-refundable travel then use an agent. You will pay more, but it can bring you peace of mind. I'll stick to the cheapest airfare I can find.
