I was dooped by the belief that I had won a third place prize of 100,000 dollars. But when I sent them the money they never sent me the prize. When I tried to call them back there was no answer.

You got hit by the sweepstakes scam

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

Its been out there for a while now.

You cannot search on business names as they change constantly - only way to keep the scam going. They also STEAL the names of legitimate businesses.

Did they send you a check to pay taxes and fees with? If yes - that was the first RED FLAG - although I have been seeing a modified version where they are just asking for money upfront without sending the check.

Legitimate sweepstakes take those fees and taxes FIRST - then send you a check of the winnings.

Did they have you wire transer money? IF yes - Second red flag
Never wire money to people you do not know.

Be careful - they may try the Mystery Shopping scam next. They send a check for several thousand dollars and have you wire most of it back - claiming it is part of the job - legit Mystery Shopping never sends checks for several thousand dollars. And the scam claims to pay $200-$300 for your time - WAY TOO MUCH

Legit mystery shoppers earn far less than that per job
