Princess Cruises falsely advertises and provides pricing and availability for a particular cruise when the ship is sold out and no cabins are available for the cruise.

On April 12, 2010 Princess Cruises website showed pricing and availability for a six day caribbean cruise departing May 1, 2010.  The webpage titled PRICING & AVAILABILITY displayed the price for an interior cabin for this cruise.  The web page indicated that cabins were available, when in fact the ship was overbooked with no cabins available what-so-ever.

I self booked airfare for the cruise based on Princess's availability and pricing, when the cruise was in fact, sold out.

The princess website is false and deceptive.  It  leads the consumer to believe that cabins are available on a specific cruise at a specific price.  It is not until the consumer takes the final step and clicks on RESERVE A CABIN that the consumer finds that there are no cabins available.

If cabins are not available for a specific cruise, the Details & Availability on the Princess webpage should be clearly reflective of that fact.

Princess Cruises has received a number of complaints about their deceptive internet advertising, but refuses to modify their website to alert the consumer that cabins may not be available, as advertised.

This is YOUR mistake

AUTHOR: Chris McGraw - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, March 10, 2013

This is why travel agents are still needed. I am sorry, but this was YOUR mistake and nobody else's. Why would you book your own airfare BEFORE you confirm your actual trip? You obviously do not have any experience in booking travel. For your claim that the cruise line was at fault for not "updating" the website is ridiculous!!! With cancellations/added cabins happening all of the time, it would be impossible for any company to constantly update the website. Also, the company is internally upgrading passengers especially TWO WEEKS BEFORE DEPARTURE!!!

Do everyone a favor including yourself. Instead of telling the world that you do not know what the heck you are doing and posting on this website just admit honestly that it was YOUR mistake and nobody else's and use a competent travel agent next time. For your information, I used to work in the travel industry and even for Princess Cruises(1997-2001) and have seen many legitimate complaints against the company and also have my own legitimate complaints even as a former employee, but yours is not one of them.
