On July 2nd I ordered an Epson Powerlite S1 lamp. After 10 days, I checked on the order and it showed as pending so I tried to cancel it on their website. When I tried to cancel it, the message showed that the order had already been filled and could not be cancelled. So I called their 800 number. The message I heard was that the company was closed due to a holiday and to please leave a message. So I did.
Ten days later I checked again. My order still showed as pending and when I tried to cancel the order on-line it said the order had already been filled so I called. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes I left another message.
5 days later, I checked again. Same thing - pending. Can't cancel it. So I tried to initiate a live chat session. I actually got a person who checked on the order and told me that the bulb would be shipped July 31. I said I'd wait.
Last week I checked again. Same thing. I called and left another message stating that I would either like the bulb or my money back.
Today 8-11-2008 I called and waited until I actually got a person. He checked and told me that my bulb may or may not ship on Wednesday. I told him I wanted to cancel my order. He said they would issue me a check but that it could take up to 30 days to receive it. I went ahead and cancelled my order. Then I asked to speak to a supervisor.
I was put through to a supervisor. I explained the whole situation to him and he said that was correct. It could take up to 30 days for me to get my money back. There was no apology, no effort to expedite the order, no customer service.
