Protect America Inc. Does Not Pay Their Employees and Lies To Customers: Do NOT WORK or Buy From Protect America!! Round Rock Texas

I worked for Protect America for about a week, since that was all I could stand of the place. The company is located in the back of the brown TECO Westinghouse building off of 35E. I was interviewed on a Wednesday and started training the next day. This company has a training class every Thursday out of the week since they know most people will quit after being subjected to horrible work conditions.

You can find their ads about every other day on craigslist claiming that you make $650 a week, which is not true. In training we were encouraged to hang up on customers and force them into the sale. We were also told that "the majority of the time the customer is always wrong." The first full day on the phones one of the sales managers named Mike O'Brien, cussed out a customer I was working with since he was not ready to buy.

Protect America is completely unprofessional as they hire convicts to work there and do not care what you say to the customer as long as you pressure them into buying one of their "free" security systems. You are forced to read from a script all day in which lies to the customer by claiming they provide a hardwired system. After you get through your pitch you are told to tell the customer that the system will be given to them for free if they install it themselves.

First of all the company does not even have a hardwire system, its a sales trick that forces the customer to buy it that day or they cannot waive the $295 fee. The system they provide is a GE wireless security system, and they have never made a hardwired system. So not only do they lie to their customers and force them into a security system "they dont really need" as quoted by Eric White, they treat their employees like crap. Let me explain:

At Protect America your work day starts like this; park on top of the left hill which is about a half mile to a mile away from the building, if you have not passed out from the heat you can make your way into the back door and immediately start your day by getting yelled at by Mike O'Brien, one of the many sales managers. After that your placed in a row next to your co-workers and are connected to an automatic dialing system which makes about 250-300 calls within your workday. Your workday consists of one 20 MINUTE LUNCH with no 15 minute breaks. If you try and make your lunch one minute longer they will fire you, as they fired a fellow employee.

Before you get hired on, They make you fill out a stack of paper work that states "if you quit before 30 days you will only get paid $6.75 per hour for hours worked." They know that most will quit before 30 days so they can literally pay you nothing for the money you have made the company. IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS SINCE I QUIT, AND I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED A PAYCHECK!!

I have called these people and left messages and no one ever answers nor will they call me back. They do not allow you to enter the building once you have quit and claim they will call the police if you do. Protect America is a corrupt company that lies to customers through pressure sales and forces them into buying alarm systems that "they don't need" Protect America treats their employees like slaves and seeks only to make as much money immorally as possible.

DO NOT WORK OR BUY FROM PROTECT AMERICA, you will regret it!!
