I had contracted with Shurgard Storage to store a car and a seperate storage unit for personal, private property. Shurgard sold out to P.S., Inc in 2006. In May, 2006 my car window was smashed by a trespassing vandal and he/she stole a box of MAC Tools/wrenches. That cost me $172.00 plus payment to a friend of $50.00 to go to the unit, open the gate for Safelite the window replacing company.
Then Public Storage, Inc applied asphalt coating onto the car storage lot where my car was located. P.S., Inc hired a towing company to tow my car off the pavement onto the gras, absent my knowledge or consent. During the asphalting process asphalt drops were sprayed all over the side doors, wheels, tires, plus they damaged the front two tires, one of which went flat.
and P.S. put a 4" dent onto a quarter panel. I didn't know about the damages until 2008, November. In december, 2008 I traveled to Memphis, replaced one tire and took the car away to a safe place. I served the P.S., Inc home office and District Manager, Lauren Brown, an invoice for the damages. Public Storage, Inc responded by serving me with an outrageous $341 57 bill and a Notice To Enforce Owner's Lien with an extortive threat that if i didn't pay by April 4, they would sell the contents of the storage unit. The attitude of the Public Storage, Inc people is hostile, combative, "give me your money" and they are now attempting to commit piracy with the contents of my storage unit.
I would recommend to all people to NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH PUBLIC STORAGE, INC.
