I had two units with Public Storage. One unit in Upland CA was burglarized and then the contents were subsequently sold before the investigation was even completed. The company made promises about covering my loss, agreed that no rent was owed and then failed to follow the law about lien sales when they sold my property that filled two units. The two units held items of substantial value

A lawsuit has been filed and interested principles should contact me at the following email address: (((email redacted)))

Since there is an active lawsuit I can't go into more detail but I am seeking additional information from an experienced attorney (possibility of becoming a client) and other victims to help with the case. If this or a similar loss has happened to you and in California then contact me as the more witnesses and evidence produced against Public Storage increases the chances for recovery, especially if this pattern/practice is shown to be a regular event. I have heard many accounts of dealing with this company and this is a good chance to do something about them.

Thanks for reading this and be aware of what happened to me and others at a Public Storage facility.

Ok... did you stop making your payments after your storage was burglarized? Even in an unfortunate event like that, you can't just to decide to stop paying until an "investigation" was complete. In your lease and at the time of move in Public Storage tells you they are NOT responsible for any losses, that is why you are REQUIRED to have insurance! If you don't pay, then you go into lein, and you're items are sold. If this was correct, then everything was done LEGALLY, and you have no recourse.

Heres a couple of examples to make things easier.

Say your apartment gets broken into and your items are stolen.
Do you stop paying rent? NO, because it is not the apartments fault.
How do you recover your loss? Contact insurance company, if you don't have insurance, then you are out of luck

While at Walmart your car gets the windows smashed and your stereo stolen.
Do you stop paying your car payments? No, because it's not the car company's fault.
How do you recover your loss? Contact your insurance company and hope they cover it.

Hope that helps.

Your goods were sold before "whos" investigation was completed? How many days delinquent were you? Did you have insurance? What kind of lock was on the unit? Let me know.
