Public Storage Scam artist, Deceptive Business Practices and downright theives Virginia Beach Virginia

 I rented my unit in 2010.  My unit started out at 79.80.  Then 2 months later went up to 81.00. Two months later $101.00.  I called them complaining about it going up then they dropped it back down to $81.00.  They said I was notified of the rate increase via post card.  I told them I hadn't been notified.  Finally in Oct 2011 it went up to $134.  I called and complained again.  They reduced it back down to $89.  Yet they are renting units my size for cheaper.  So it stayed that way for about 6 months.  Now it is up high again and I can't pay it.  My new rent amount is $118.20 and my late payent fee is $134. 

When I called and spoke to Dana she told me my lock was off my unit and they put a new one on for me.  I asked her why my rent was so high.  I mean I have been a loyal customer.  Paid my rent.  This is how I get rewarded.  So now my unit is going to auction next month.  I said I thought the contract was a year to year and she said it's a month to month so they can change it anytime they want. 

Do not rent from this place.  They get you in the door with $1 for first month's rent and they screw you in the end.  It isn't worth the hassell or headache.  Oh and I declined the insurance and they demanded my home owner policy to see if it qualified.  Yet they say they aren't insurance agents.  They sure try to sell their 3rd party ins.

Employees are rude at this location and the 1-800-567-0759 customer service number.  They don't know how to treat people and they don't know how to keep loyal customers because they abuse them by rent increases until it's too much.
