I am searching for a long-lost brother-in-law. To that end I purchased/subscribed to a five-year "VIP" pass through www.publicrecordschecks.com, a background search company, at a cost of over $45.
When I initiated my first search what appeared to be my lost brother-in-law appeared. I clicked on the I was directed to another payment site asking for $29.95 and my payment information again.
I'm going to now contact this wretched company and demand a refund. More to follow...
