I am posting this because Quirk Motor's has robbed many people. I worked there for a few months but eventually quit because of what was going on there. 

Incident 1

There was a brand new Mazda3 in the showroom. It was claimed to have never been driven.  Before this car was placed in the showroom it was out on the lot. One day a customer came in and was interested in the car and wanted to take it for a drive. They let him take it for a few hours so he could go show his friends or family. This is a common practice in dealerships.  Well the man that had the car proceeded to get drunk and get in a head-on collision with another car which resulted in a bent frame and quite a bit of bodywork. They then proceeded to fix the car up brand new, except for one thing, the bent frame. Then they placed that car in the showroom and it was up for sale as new.  Some time after a lady came in and bought that car at sticker price under the assumption it was new.

Incident 2

At Quirk Mazda there was four or five sales associates who used to work at Quirk's used car lot. They were considered Quirk's best. I'm going to give you a prime example of why, but first a little background on why the best were all here and not the used lot. The cover story was that Mazda  was slow and needed the help, but the word on the inside was much different. It was common knowledge for most Quirk employee's that those men were involved in stealing cars from Mr. Quirk, totaling a great deal of money. One of the involved and "punished" was his right hand man. This man was put in position of assistant manager but he was in charge. He may not of had the title of manager but the actual manager would of done what he said. Instead of firing his best liars(oops I mean salesmen) he sent them to Mazda. You say why didn't he fire them? There's plenty of good salesmen out there. For starters he was close to them and these guys were pro's at taking peoples money. Now for the second incident.  Quirk does not list price's on any of their used cars. They do this because it allows them the chance to charge whatever they want.  One day a man come's in and he's looking at some cars and he see's a 2005 Nissan Altima in excellent condition. The salesman asks him where he would like his payments to be and then plays the up and down game until the guy think's he's getting a good deal. The man signs the contract and agree's to paying 22,000 for that Altima. You could buy a brand new one at the time for a few grand less than that.  So he leave's probably content with his purchase, it was pretty clear he had no idea about the value's of cars. The man figure's out he had been played and calls Quirk and tells them he is on his way down there right now to get his down-payment back and cancel the sale.  The assistant manager then proceeds to SPRINT to the registration office. He was yelling register that car now before the man gets here. The man shows up and begins yelling saying he wants his money back and the assistant manager looks at him with a smirk and says sorry, this car is already registered in your name and it belongs to you. They used to encourage lying to people. If you ripped someone off you got a high five.

Incident 3

Every time somebody buys a new car from Quirk they get a survey in the mail. If the dealer's get good survey's they get bonus's. It goes right up the chain from the associate who sold the car all the way up to the manager. One day a young mother comes in and buys a car. She and the young man who sold her the car were flirting the whole time. So she asks him out on a date, he decline's. Before the transaction is completed he is talking to one of the manager's about it and they pressured him into going back and saying yes.  He tells me about it and how she just wasn't his type but he needed a good survey and the bosses were putting pressure on him to say yes. The next few days before the date they made endless remarks about how he needs to sleep with her and get a good survey and make some money.  Very crudely as well.  So he goes on the date, sleeps with her, and gets a perfect survey.  He also never spoke to her again.

Incident 4

One of the sales associates  was fed up with the way things were around there so he was checking out other dealers for jobs.  It so happens that one of the dealers he interviewed at happened to know someone at Mazda. He then told them and the associate was fired.  The associate calls unemployment and tells them that he was fired without cause.  The unemployment office calls Quirk to verify that he was fired and they told unemployment that he had quit.

Incident 5

They mailed out fliers saying that they had these really nice cars priced from 500-5000. If you read the flier you would of jumped on it because it would of been the deal of the century.  It turns out those cars didn't exist.  When I started working there the fliers had just been sent out.  Someone came onto the lot asking me about one of those cars. I tried looking for it and couldn't find it, or any of them at that matter. So I went inside to ask where the cars were and they grab one of their veteran associates and say watch him handle this and from here on out go about it the same way.  He then starts explaining to the man that those cars don't run, they're junk.  The guy says I don't care I fix cars thats still a good deal I'm going to fix it I want to see it. The associate says that they are on another lot but you really don't want it and continues trying to convince the man that he doesn't want the car. The man continue's saying that yes he does until finally he gets so frustrated he storms out. Now I'm sitting there terribly confused. Why do they have a flier with a bunch of cars that don't run but yet they look like they are in great condition? Better yet if you put that flier out why would you try so hard to convince someone that they didn't want it? I mean isn't that why you put out the flier? I then ask the associate those questions so that when i get another customer like that I can be prepared.  He tells me they don't exist and they're priced like that because if someone has four thousand dollars for a car that they can bait and switch them into putting a down payment on a car. Now that's a scam if I've ever seen one.

So all in all no matter who you are or what you want if you are involved with Quirk there is an excellent chance you will be screwed.  There is a huge number of people that have been cheated by them and I am sure there are many more to come.  If it involves them having to spend money they will do everything in their power to cheat you.

I can attest to everything in this report being accurate. The incident regarding the totalled Mazda 3 is 100% accurate. I know this because it was originally my customer. Quirk is notoriously one of the most crooked dealers in Massachusetts. And just like the author of this entry says his right hand man used to run the store. He made his "inner circle" pay a fee in order to take a customer. I refused to do this, so the customer was taken from me. When I left the company I took the customers contact info and reported to them anonimously that their car had been in an accident. I am also the salesperson who was fired for looking for another job (who wouldn't?!?) and they absolutely TRIED to deny my claim. I also am very familiar with the salesperson who slept with the customer for the good survey. Quirk is the embodiment of everything wrong with the car business.
