Quorum Travel International closed it's office over the weekend due to five (5) salespersons either calling in sick or striking due to having received worthless paychecks over the last 3-week pay period.
Some employees suggest the worthless paychecks is a scam by Quorum's management to cause them such hardship they will have to quit their jobs. One employee said she did not have money to buy the gasoline to get home last Friday, and has 3 paychecks which are no good.
Steve Kilchowski, Quorum's Promotions Manager was telling employees not to go to Regions Bank because the funds are not there. Kilchowski told people WalMart would cash their checks, even though Quorum's account at Regions Bank had no funds on deposit.
Last Saturday Quorum posted an untruthful note on their office door which read the office was closed because the air-conditioning was not working. The hastily handwritten note requested that persons re-schedule appointment to attend the presentation and pick-up the free gifts. Many people, whom most traveled all the way to Boca Raton from Miami, knew they had been had when they could feel the cold air coming out between the gap in the large double glass doors. The Stone Gate Bank Building's security officer told some potential customers Quorum locked the doors when the salespeople were fired.
Some employees have filed criminal complaints with the Boca Raton Police Department regarding the bad paychecks. Other employees seeking revenge, knowing they will never receive commissions owed, intend to expose Quorum for fraudulent business practices.
Quorum Travel International claims to be celebrating their 35th anniversary, which is totally false. Quorum has only been around scaming people to buy sub-standard travel club memberships since April 2008.
Quorum also claims to be a full-service travel agency, which is completely untrue. Call to book a reservation, you'll get a recording that tells people to leave a message, that all lines are busy helping other clients. Not true!
I've heard rumors that Quorum is a boilerroom operation. It may be true, but so much business is conducted behind closed doors, but I have nothing to go on but lots of rumors. There are rumors that the Phone Rooms are managed by ex-cons and some of those employees live in halfway houses.
Many customers walk into the office shouting about the worthless product purchased, that there are so many restrictions on travel they demand their money returned. Some even bring the Boca Raton Police with them.
Quorum's president, George Rodriguez seems like a nice enough guy, but he knows what's going on. So does Denisse Jallouk, V.P. I would not be surprised if Denisse Jallouk loses her Florida Real Estate licence, on file with Keys Realtors, for continuosly signing bad checks drawn on Quorum's accounts at both Sun Trust and Regions banks. Rumors suggest omebody will report this unlawful activity to the Florida Board of Real Estate.
My advise! Do not purchase anything from Quorum. The Travel Club is rumored to be worthless, and so are the free gifts, given to sit though a long presentation. And don't apply for a job... eventually you won't get paid!!!
