I contacted RR Auction and they offered to send it to PSA DNA themselves and they promised me that they could get the autograph authenticated. I told them that since PSA DNA already rejected the autograph then it is a fake and I wanted a refund. The only thing they offered me was for me to consign it in their next auction.
I wanted a refund but we were at an impasse and I will never buy from them ever again and I will not remain quiet about it. I will spread the word about this dishonesty.

The arrogance of the top dog" Bob Eaton is finally taking its toll. The opening of their monthly catalog seems to have become an industry joke. "RR Auction is committed to offering authentic materialwe also add LOAs and/COAs from highly respected authenticators.. Highly respected? Says who????Over the years, Bob Eaton and his catalog has offered innumerable bad, forged, secretarial, wrongly identified signatures backed by his circus full of home made authenticators.
autographalert.com is notified on a regular basis of the fakes illustrated in RR Auction catalogs. Fakes in every field of collecting from presidents in the front of the catalog to sports in the rear. We do not publish all the times Eaton at RR has been notified by some industry giants about a forged autograph being offered by RR and authenticated by RRs choice of autograph authenticating imposters.
In the past it would be extremely rare to get Eatonto even respond to the free advice being given to him by experts. Eaton would ignore their guidance and counsel and continue to sell the bad item....In the past, very few could ever get Bob Eaton off his throne and on the phone. He is now apparently feeling the pain inflicted upon him by past supporters. Eaton is now on the phone and also sending emails begging for consignments.
It doesnt appear to be working as one of his long time major supporters has had enough....The only one who cant tell these are totally two different signatures is Bob Eaton. Then insults the potential bidder adding his Certificate of Authenticity. Believe us, this is far from being an isolated incident. Want more proof Bob Eaton, a PSADNA autograph authenticator and his RR Auction has no clue. Study the genuine signature of Chaing Kai Shek above. Now compare it with the signed photo illustrated below.
The photo below is from RR catalog #327, November 14, 2007, item #365. Chaing Kai Shek photo mis-described byBob Eaton Soth Vietnam President Nguyen Van Thieu...We know whose signature is on the slip for item #185 but we are not here to educate Bob Eaton, we have tried for years and he does not respond, just ignores the experts and continues to sell the items he is told are not genuine, mis-described and mis-identified!...Bob Eaton, RR Auctions

RR may or may not have ripped you off, but PSA/DNA definitely ripped you off. The fact that RR told you they would get it passed by PSA/DNA should tell you all you need to know about PSA/DNA. This is the companys dirty little secret. Whether an autograph gets PSA/DNAs stamp of approval or not depends greatly on who the submitter is. If RR had submitted the same Armstrong you bought, it probably would have been judged authentic, but because it was you, it got a thumbs down.

There is a man name Russ Still who is an expert on Armstrong Signatures and he should take a look at this one. I would bet on this one being genuine. There is a guy name Cornish that works for RR and he is an expert in astronaut signatures.
I believe the part about PSA determining this autograph to be fake. I think PSA is very hasty and sloppy in my humble opinion of them.
Before RR says they never sold this item they should examine it to see if it really is fake. Stating they never sold it without researching it is in my opinion hasty. Personally I think RR is simply denying that they sold a fake but if they actually did sell this item pictured then they sold a real Armstrong signature. It is unfortunate that the original poster did not show the inscription as well. If the original poster is telling the truth then the complaint should be against the authentication company that told him it was fake because they don't have know what they are doing in my humble opinion.

RR Auctions Complaint

Now, RR Auctions company policy provides that a "100% refund" will be given the buyer should any autograph be found not to be authentic by a third party. www.rrauctions.com. It's right there. Do you honor this policy when a client notifies you of something as I just described? Are they ignored? Do they have to hire attorneys to force you to honor your own company policies? Do you try to run them through the mill? Stall? What?
I beliebe Bob Eaton owns RR Auctions. Bob Eaton is also an "autograph consultant" for PSA/DNA Authenticators. I'm curious how the example I proposed above, would be seen by a jury.
For a little education, I would like your comments RR Auctions as well, on the following "authenticators" question:
RR Auctions authenticates its own materials and has Roger Epperson as one of their rock and roll music autograph authenticators.
Roger Epperson owns his own rock and pop music autograph company called "Real" in Texas. Epperson buys and sells AND authenticates his own items which he sells and profits from.
Roger Epperson is a former employee of PSA/DNA Authenticators. Bob Eaton is a current "autograph consultant for PSA/DNA Authenticators.
Roger Epperson and Bob Eaton are "autograph experts" for James Spence Autographs, also known as "JSA", another autograph consulting/authenticating company. James Spence, interestingly enough, is also a former employee of PSA/DNA Authenticators.
I'll stop here for now. I would be interested in your response to these questions RR Auctions and look forward to reading them.

Typical Dealer can not admit an ERROR

Bob Eaton used to attend my cousin's Auctions in Connecticut and he used to throw tantrums when someone outbid him. Bob Eaton also sold at several shows in the area. He is a hot head.
In 1987 , Smokey Joe Wood's son out bid Bob and bob could not take it like a man.
Bob Eaton has Two rules:
1. Bob is Always right.
2. If Bob is ever wrong, then re-read rule # 1
About fifteen years ago, Bob Eaton became angry with Michael Minor and sent out a considerable amount of mail that both defamed and slandered Mr Minor.
I gave Mr. Grabon two pages worth and told him to post it all in his rebuttal. TWO FACTUAL PAGES !!

Bob always gets what he wants and when he does not get what he wants then his angry side shows its ugly head. As far as authenticity goes, many items on RR really do appear authentic. I would say there are a number of number of items in each auction that I would never touch at all . I think Bob gets mad and his staff members are afraid of Bob so they leave Bob alone if he wants an item to be real.
In 1990 I saw Bob's face turn crimson red because at a UACC autograph show in NYC, a potential customer was going to buy a very expensive item and another knowledgeable observer clued in that customer about the item being secretarially signed .
There are only two rules when you do business with RR;
1. RR is ALWAYS right. 2. If RR is ever wrong, then re-read rule #1.
