The following are my opinion of HOA and facts that happened to me. I believe that laws will change for the better for both HOA's in Texas and their paid management companies.....

Needs Improvement

HOA management and Board should work together for a better community. This is clearly not happening. People take advantage of the many By-laws of HOA's. We had issues with our HOA when the board was not respected as paying customer to the management company-RCM. (currently cindy yeglin -RealManage). Even though this is the case I hope others learn from my situation. There was no order because of the relationship between manage. and board. Unfair deed enforcement, waste, breach of contract.

Management Responsibility
Following the law is for everyone not just the board. If a homeowner  needs copies, receipt, complaint they should be handled with respect. Withholding information is not appropriate. Contract needs to be fulfilled, not just what you feel like doing. Sometimes a little education is needed, maybe do this at a board meeting. It doesn't help anyone to keep information or to argue. It is actually against by-laws to interrupt business in any form. Don't pick and choose the laws you want to follow.

Stop Blaming the Board
If the HOA representatives are doing something unlawful I understand removing them(use  bylaws)not because they want to hire a new management company or are not doing exactly what you would have done. The management and members should all be supportive and be active. Starting the contract or ending it should be equally pleasant. Don't wait until things have gone too far and members don't want to pay dues. Be fair and try to make the community better. Don't be rude to members especially if they are being polite. Refusing service under contract is unlawful but also rude.......

Unsatisfied
I was not happy with the way things were handled. RCM didn't even act like a business. It seemed like having a really bad boss that you could never quit your job from. If the law requires things to be done,do them and keep the community involved and informed. If the majority wants to dissolve or amend bylaws, elect new board, help them while you are getting paid. Act like you are employed and not the other way around. To sum everything up; we didn't get what we paid for.
