The first part of my comment is directed to the negative responders: So it is "right" to treat people with no respect and to dishonor them as a human being because they have debt, regardless of what type of debt?? In theUA 99% of Americans are in debt, do you have a mortgage, if you do you are in debt!! The nation is in billions of debt. The point-regardless of where you purchase, lease, "rent to own" or finance your home/vehicle through, consumers have rights, humans aka people have rights. It is not okay to threaten, stalk, make another person feel unsafe or intimidated because of debt or any other reason. Rent a Center is NO exeption-PERIOD!! Under Federal Law- it is irrelevant if you are caught up on payments, late or in desparate need of bankruptcy! Harassment is harassment, stalking is stalking and it doesn't matter what company the debt is through- it is against the law!! I have read numerousctimes "don't buy things you can't afford", if you use your credit card for any reason- you can't afford it! When the mortgage company puts you into a hone loan on a 150,000 dollar loan, you can't afford it because they go off 3 times your annual income!! How about that student loan you are paying back for the Associate degree that put you in a 12-15 dollar an hour job but your loan is 2 times your annual income because the private college over charges! These are examples in no way, shape or form am I stating this applies to any of you!! It does not matter where the consumer accumulates debt- it is wrong-wrong to treat any human being in an intimidating, harassing or discriminating way!! That is why there is so much debate over rent a center because most of you have already discriminated the person who owes the debt to RAC, implying they do not pay there bills and basically they are a low life! Wow!! Why doesn't anyone evaluate sitiations before automatically discriminating and ussuming the worst of the person?

To the consumer- file with the FTC, the General Attorneys office in your state, call the police if violation on your property, if you feel intensely threatened, intimidated, stalked get an attorney and finally KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!! As a citizen of the US and a consumer!! I can't push that enough- KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!!

I'll just bet you were the perfect, non-confrontational "lady" when you were there...also correct, right?

Rental Centers deal with the dregs of society that have proven their inability to handle their finances.

They are the last resort for people with their credit in the toilet...such as, almost certainly, yours.

Get a life and work to improve your situation instead of whining.

I'm glad I'm retired and no longer have to deal with the public on a daily basis...there are MANY out there just looking to prove they are being discriminated against.

You don't make payments on time.  They make collection calls because YOU don't make payments on time.  They come to your place to pick up the stuff YOU rented because YOU won't make payments on time.  Now its time to try to defame the company as some silly, immature, dumb way to get even.  Oh yes...they are so, so bad.
