When I called for customer service, no one ever answered after the initial recording; instead, after about 10 minutes of silence, I was presented with a satisfaction questionnaire! RNK's website doesn't show an email address for customer service, only for media inquiries (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Well, guess what? Google search reveals that RNK filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2012! Ever since then it's been battling Verizon's threat to terminate local service access. Looks like Verizon won and we lose!
