I applied for a job at Rooms to Go a while ago thinking that they are reputable, knowledgeable management team, and willing to train and retain their workers.....BIG MISTAKE on my part to accept the job offer.  From the very interview I knew that the supervisor who interviewed me was clueless and missing a screw or two in her cranium. I believe she was just desperate to hire someone, anyone because her dept was backed up with work.  She even told me she offered someone else the job and the person didn't even call back to accept or reject the offer....ding, ding, ding that should have set off a bell for me to have reservations about the job should I be offered the position.  But just the way she wanted to use me to clean up their mess was the same way I was looking to take any job that came first.  So, I got the job, started working and never in my work life did I have a feeling like "why am I here" on any job.  

First off, I was not introduced by the supervisor to any of the workers, I didn't know who my manager was, never knew the different departments in my surrounding area, people who would stop by our dept and talk to us, I always had to ask "who is that", we had one staff meeting while I was there (of course I'm no longer there THANK GOD) and in that staff meeting I was not formerly introduced to anyone....again I had to ask who's who.  So finally, one day someone came over to our dept and started talking and before that person ended their fake speech about caring for the people under them they said "I'm now your manager". Again, I didn't know the name of that person and had to ask.  So, I did my work to the best of my ability, mind you what I was doing wasn't something I was used to doing so I needed some training and direction which I had put on a useless questionnaire when filling out the paperwork during my orientation.  The supervisor showed no interest to help me improve.  Each time I went into her office she had this disgusted, blank, useless, and clueless look on her face.  After seeing this look far too many times, I came to the conclusion that she was all the above and didn't know how to teach, train, and was actually just dumb.  She tried to explain how to do a simple metric conversion and had no freaking idea what she was saying.  She pulled out a formula and couldn't do jack so she went to her cell phone to use the conversion feature and still couldn't use that too.....

God I was just counting the minutes to get outta that place.  She ended stating her cell phone doesn't have the conversion feature.....ha  I said to myself....you're just dumb......this went on for several months and she still didn't show any interest to train me, her looks just got more and more disgusted when I ask her questions and she would pass me on to the co-workers instead of training me herself.  She was more educated in sending text messages from her cell phone to God knows who than making her department function right.  Yes, I made mistakes but as I said my resume said it all when she was interviewed me.... I was not experienced for the position advertised so it was her job to train me.  The last straw for me was when she just rudely dropped a file on my desk and told me to fix a problem which she didn't leave a note or anything for me to review the problem.  Oh, speaking of notes, I would work on files, leave little notes before giving her the files back for her to peruse and make comments, she would give me back the files with her own comments without answering my questions.....of course her sticky notes to me were just as dumb as she looked, supervised and spoke....end result my questions weren't answered, I was more confused, and she telling me I should have gotten how to do the job already.  God I was so frustrated of the management.  

Bottom line, she kept me around to help with the mediocre work of clearing up their backlog and when things were caught up that was the end of the line for me.  Both manager and supervisor gave me a great show though.... working with them felt like I was a part of the movie "DUMB AND DUMBER" it was hilarious to watch them function.....this incidentally was the high point of my day. So, anyone thinking of working with RTG, Seffner Office, go with your gut feeling during the first interview, especially if the job is for a CUSTOMER SERVICE/MERCHANDISING/IMPORT/WAREHOUSE position.
