at its best!

We purchsed a system from Rainsoft about two months after moving into our new house. We have had nothing but problems since. We tried to contact the salesman who sold us the system, but his phone number had been disconnected.

We eventually got ahold of the main company, and they offered to send someone out, no associated with Rainsoft to come look at the system. The repairman said there was nothing that he could do since the system should never have been sold to us, it was unable to handle our house.

We then spoke to Rainsoft regarding this and they refused to return our calls after this. We are now in collections since we refuse to pay a bill for something that doesn't work, and they have refused to come get. The collections people call about 10 to 15 times a day, even though I have told them the situation.

Our water is worse then before we put the system in. The whole scheme is a ripoff. We did some researching later and found that we could have bought a water system for our house, that worked, for a fraction of the price!

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

It's hard to know what your getting into when you've been brainwashed.

AUTHOR: Call Me K - (U.S.A.)

Hear this and know the truth.

Rainsoft salespeople are trained to spark impulse buying using advanced physiological techniques. We're talking brainwashing propaganda so filthy and unethical it's strikingly similar to that used by the Nazi Gestapo! Mind you, most of the sales people don't know what they are doing. Many belive this is a good product. They're just as brainwashed as the people they are victimizing. It's kind of like a pyramid arrangement, with the many at the bottom not knowing what they are doing is wrong and rips off consumers, and the few at the top laughing and counting money.

To Friend: the insensitive Idiot

AUTHOR: Alvin - (U.S.A.)

By the way Friend I don't know whose friend you are but it must be rainsoft's and your grandpappy's. By the way Rainsoft gives you a 1 day policy to resend the sale of this particular unit. Granted I was too fooled and by all the hype. But it is still trash and if you can't see that you truly are an idiot. No one has the right to rip ANYONE off and service after the sale is what used to make America great. It seems that is a thing of the past.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

Rainsoft: You made the decision

AUTHOR: Friend - (U.S.A.)

The first thing to realize is that Impulse buying will be the downfall of everyone. You dont buy a 10k dollar car in one day and if you do, SHAME ON YOU!! that kind of money and you did no further investigating on the situation. All states are different but in most you get the opportunity to cancel any contract in a certain ammount of time.

The majority of the purchase price is the LIFETIME warranty, on non-electrical parts, aka 90 percent of your unit is non electrical. Each dealership is independent of the others, which means prices are dictated by the dealership.

I know more than id like to admit about this operation, but 1 thing i can assure all of you, if someone comes into your house and tells you that you can save money by spending money YOU BETTER KNOW exactly what your getting into, My Grandpappy always told me you NEVER spend money to save money. But unfortunately once your in, theres no turning back. The safest way not to get wrapped up in this is investigate, evaluate, and read comsumer reports on ANYTHING you buy.
