As others are warning, Do Not use ReachOut for lifeline cell phones. I am severely disabled: I try to do one thing every day. This company has wasted my time for over two months now, lied to me, and possibly stolen the money I supposedly bought a phone with.

I actually don't know what to do. I have documented the (crazy) phone calls to customer support, I was approved and had a phone "on its way" on 3-15-2013, and on 5-2-2013 was told that gosh, no phone after almost two months? (Put on hold for a while) Then, well sir, what you can do is stop by Quick a Roo in Fresno, or MNJ Supplies in Bakersfield, and pick up your phone! I tried to explain that I can't get to my local bank most days, let alone travel over a mountain range into the desert for my elusive phone. Then the woman said, well, we show that the phone is in transit to you right now via FedEx. Also, when you activate it, I've put a note in your file that you will get "free airtime minutes due to the delay." Well, not a thing happened.

They certainly don't answer emails, so once again, I called customer service on 5-21-2013. Brian (with a strong non-Brian sounding accent) told me that my order was canceled. Note the passive voice: like _who_ canceled? I did not. But the good news was, since they had No Facts on my case, even though "Brian" looked me up by case number and knew my name, I needed to submit the qualification documents and make application for the program, i.e, start over. Right. And he saw nothing about my $25, so I needed to fax them a copy of the bank statement and request a refund.

Please note: I don't have in front of me proof that they took the $25. I can surely get the proof, but do not want to navigate away from this page. In my poverty I use a slower-than-dialup connection. But the woman (who stayed unnamed) on 5-2-2013 confirmed that I had paid $25.

Well, this is insane. I'd rather they keep their ill gotten gains. I can't afford to fight them; I actually can't afford my upcoming doctor appointment. It's like -- my crippled status is why I qualify for these programs, right? In truth, this report is the last thing I can do. But with my documentation, and their (possible) theft of my money, I'll gladly join any lawsuit upcoming. I have suffered physical, emotional, and financial damage, and can readily prove it with documents and many witnesses.
