My parents had locked themselves out of their house and when I found and called the Recommended Locksmith number, the operator told me that a technician would respond within 15 mins and the rate would be determined by the type of lock with a starting rate of $35. I figured that since their lock is just a simple 'jimmy', it would be closer to that $35 rate. When the man met them at the house, he told them $85 - and when they asked why it was so much, he simply said that it was for his 'gas money to come out at night'. Considering that the operator never mentioned anything about additional costs for a nightime trip or 'paying for gas money', this was a complete RipOff and completely unethical and unprofessional. This 'technician' was simply taking advantage of two Seniors who were desperate to get into their house at 9pm at night. My mother said that it took him 2-3 minutes maximum to open the lock. As my parent's are not one's to push or argue (and they needed to get into the house to take medicine - they were coming back from a late night at the hospital), they simply paid the person and later told me about it. I was appalled at how they were treated. Be warned that you should NOT use this company.
