Long story short. We started taking jobs with Regis and completed over $150 Residential Bank REO and Insurance repair jobs for them. At first payment was not an issue, they were slow to pay but they always did pay, until the payment started to get later and later and the amounts got smaller and smaller. Until one day they stopped. At that time we were owed roughly $75k. We worked in high gear to contact Leo and his band of felons repeatedly. They would make promises to pay, we offered to work out several payment plans that Regis agreed to but they simply would not keep the agreements. We didn't file lien notices because if you notices to lien on bank jobs, you can kiss the work and your income good-bye. Foolish on our part but trust me not too many contractors were filing lien notices during the big repo home business windfall. Regis stopped paying, we filed complaints with the CSLB and later found out that several others in CA. had done the same and their license had been suspended and it does not appear their bond will be renewed. I hope someone in AZ or NV will give them a kick in the ass and work to get their license suspended or revoked in those states as well. I am certain there are folks in both places that are the victims of the big Regis Rip Off.
