Register.com uses credit card numbers without authorization. I used my VISA credit card number to register a domain name for a web site in late 2000. They recharged my credit card for 2001/2002 without obtaining authorization. I have tried, unsuccessfully for 2 1/2 months, to obtain a refund to my VISA account. They are not cooperative.

#1 UPDATE Employee

This is an entirely false statement.

AUTHOR: Graham - (Canada)

What you are saying is like saying the phone company or your car insurance company that has pre-authorized payments is taking money from you without unauthorization. In the services agreement that you stated you read it states that safe renew (pre authorized payments/automatic renewal) is turned on by default and that you accept the responcibility of turning it off if you do not wish for it to be on. Also if you wish for a refund we give the refund. If you have an overage fee it's not the companies fault the funds were not there.

This is my second report (April 16, 2002). The first report (March 9, 2002) was over a month ago. They promised reimbursement, but I have received nothing as of this date. They may be going out of business. If they aren't going out of business now, they certainly will in the future. Customer service is lacking, business sense is missing, and integrity is questionable. Don't do business with this company.
