Shame on you guys! I was acting on behalf of my friend who is 85 years old. She lost her husband a few weeks ago and with him a good bunch of income. She just couldn't afford her mortgage payments anymore. The lender was OK to deal with, but such modifications take some time. While all the necessary papers have been filed with the lender and she was waiting to hear about her ellegibillity for a loan modification, she was contacted from the Remedy Center. She thought they are acting on behalf of the lender, but this is just not true.

Since late payments are public record, Remedy Center found out that she's behind with her payments and contacted her. They are not working with any lender. They wanted all info again and promissed to get back to her within 24 hours to tell, for what kind of loan modification program she is elligible. They sure did got back to her asking her for about $3,500 for their services. I then contacted the lender. They checked Remedy Centers website and confirmed they have not ordered ANYONE to contact my friend.

The bank told me again, that a loan modification is a government backed program and NOBODY is supposed tp pay a dime for this modifiactaion.  Don't work with them. Although they are pretty good on the phone telling you that only a small percentage of people have been successfull to deal directly with thier lender, this is not true. Banks will work with you. Be patient. Don't fall for these guys!! And for you guys: Again - shame on you!! You are targeting people who really cannot afford to loose any money. I hope someone will stop this company!!
