The teachers...well they aren't teachers at all, they are just Medical Assistants who been in the field for maybe 2 years or more. The lectures consisted of whatever was in our packets because we didn't use the books and most lectures just turn into random chit chats about random things which most of the time we ended up being off subject to whatever it was we were suppose to be learning.
Financial Aid....F.A at this college is different from the financial aid at maybe a university or community college. Financial aid literally hounds the student body for money. I qualified for financial aid still took out two loans and I still had to pay $75.00 each mod...Wow and like some colleges, you get the money you don't use and its sent to you in a check....Well no student ever got that. Then if you don't have the money they will pull you from your education and hound you some more in the office. I had a classmate who they kicked out and told her not to come back until she had her money. You will come in the school 8am for class and in the doorway to the classes sits a table and on that table a list of the names of the enrolled students and you literally had to be checked off to go to class.
The promises...Remington promises small classes which only lasted for 3 months, because after my 3rd module there, it seemed as if I was in a high school class. They promised job assistance which is a complete lie because the staff in that area made us believe they were connected people at hospitals, Doctor's Offices, Labs etc when in reality they staff do the same thing I do. Which is they pick up the newspaper or they go to Monster.com or Job.com and simply tell us, and they put our resume in the computer and send it off which is exactly what I did myself. That's not assisting, that something I did myself. I even had a staff member of the career services call and ask would I be interested in doing STNA work. STNA? Medical Assistants and STNA's are not even the same thing. They promised challenging work which is a lie, they got this motto "Miss a day, Miss alot" I wanted to see if this was actually true, so I missed two days a school and truthfully I didn't miss much at all because I maintained high grades my whole remington experiences.
I can go on and on about how Remington is a worthless school. People know people who got a certificate, diploma or degree is suffering because Remington degree or certificate aren't worth anything. People who want to do better for themselves have to get caught up in scam where we pay for an education we truthfully can't use. Real Skills for the Real World? I think not. This school needs to be shut down, Why is the Gov't continuing to fund this place. 1,000's of people are in unnesscary debt because of a college education they can't use. In my case I have to start all over. Almost a year of hard studying, $13,500 and awards and in reality I got nothing. Someone please hear the voice of the people, hear my voice and help something get done about this school that isn't doing anything for people who wants to do good in life.
