So i have a ? for you experts. I rented a bed from these di*s and from day one they were so screwed up on the billing i could have punched them. i got calls all the time saying i was late and threatening me. lol I was told one wrong thing after another on what the procedure was for credit card payments. so anyhow they informed me they could not take money out of my account "without the ok from me" well they did and then when i refused to pay they turned around and came in to my work at HOme depot and litterally three at a time started comeing in my line and harrassing me.
I attempted to return the item but when they said they would pick it up they never showed on three seperate occasions. Its been about four months and havent heard a peep from them but wonder if I have some sort of legal action being taken on me because i still owed about 1/4 of payment left. Hmmm whats your advice you rac workers. This company I guess makes the emplyees feel superior and think they can go around threatenin people well ha cant wait to see one of them run into the wrong customer. I have the threatening letters from them still and spoke with corporate many times to try and solve this issue. Hope they wrote it off.lol

We think those exact words for MOST of the people who rent from those kinds of places. They're nothing but a hugh rip off and we wonder why anyone would "rent" something and pay three or four times the price they could buy it for. Someone just posted that they charge FIVE times retail, which might be a little high but not too far out of the ballpark.

Having worked in California and other states for RentaCenter, I can easily understand your horror wthis situation.
First, keep all of your documents, notes, door tags, and anything that RAC gave you concerning this.
Second, RentaCenter may have written off your account as a loss after 90 days expired from the last renewal payment, but not necessarily so, 90% of the time they do this. They do NOT report to any credit agency---so don't worry about an adverse credit report or score.
Third, even though your contact has been non-existent for awhile, if an episode like this ever happens again to you (or someone else) at a workplace----have the police or your employers store security remove them from the premises...IT IS YOUR RIGHT !!!!!
RentaCenters revenue for 2007 was over 3 billion dollars from poor unaware United States citizens .
New Jersey was the only state that has finally stood up and said RentaCenter tactics and business is like LOANSHARKING......settlement awarded millions of dollars back to previous RentaCenter customers.
