Rent A Wreck Car Rental they are charging me for their mistake , they did not have any equpments to change the tyre and their spare tyre had no air in it. Lafayette, Indiana

I Rented a car from rent a wreck, lafayette to go to indianapolis. while we were on the way, our car tyre got punctured, so when we went to change the tyre, the spare tyre had no air in it and moreover they had no equipment to change the tyre and since it was around  2am in the morning , we had no other choice other than to call 911.

The police officer came and he gave us the equipment to change the spare and tyre and we thought since the gas station was 0.2 miles aeay, we could slowly drive to the nearest gas station and fill the gas and since it was midnight and it was on the highway,
we had to turn on the parking light.

the spare tyre was different from other tyres, it was smaller than the other tyres in the car and police officer told that we cannot drive with this for more than 20 miles even after filling in air.

After , we changed the tyre, the car did not start, the battery was gone for just switching on the parking lights for 10 minutes as it is the rule.

We had no other choice, so the police officer called a tow van for us and we had to take a cab from indianapolis to west lafayette it costed us $150.

Next morning i called up rent a wreck and told them about what happened and gave the address and phone number of the towing company, they spoke very rudely and said they wanted their car back . I tried calling up them in their after hours number when the car broke down, but it was going to a voicemail.

I gave them the address and phone number of the towing company and they went and took their car back and they tried charging $300 from my card for that. which was 100% their mistake.

since i did not have $300 in that account, the card did not go through and now, they have sent me an attorney notice asking $533.10

Actually they have to pay us the money for the cab, and they made us stand on a highway for 3 hours in that cold.

If they had the a proper spare tyre and the equipments to chang ethe tyre, we wouldn't have called 911.

And how come a good battery drain for turning ont he parkng light during night on a highway for ust 10 minutes, which is actually a law. to turn on parking lights when a car is broke down.

We have the proof of everything, we even took pictures of the car.
