I purchased an 3 year extended warranty (RepairTech) through a reputable on-line camera store in 2006. Last year (2008), the camera died and I filed a claim. I was instructed to send the camera to their center in Iselin, NJ.

Two months later the camera was returned. I opened the box and found the camera. No letter describing the work done. I checked the camera, only to discover that it was not even touched.

It took several weeks to get a hold of someone (e-mail and phone). A new company "Repair Claim" in Florida would handle the issue. Just send $45 for shipping, handling, insurance, etc... The warranty cost me $49.99... No thanks.

It seems that RepairClaim (aka RepairTech) is playing the old shell game. I'm going to use the $45 at a LOCAL repair shop or towards a new camera.

Good Luck to all who have been ripped off.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Wrong address for repairtech Inc should be retracted ASAP

AUTHOR: Spts - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 22, 2009

The N. Miami Beach Florida address you listed is not for RepairTech, but its Southern Photo Technical Service, a honest, Independant Authorized Service Center Est. in 1948 and they also got ripped off by Repairtech. Southern Photo provided digital camera repairs for their Repairtech customers and lost tens of thousands of dollars when Repairtech disappeared without notice. The people at Southern Photo have been forced to lay off employees to recover from the Repairtech rippoff. They have even set up a Warranty Resolution Center web site and toll free phone number to help as many owners of Repairtech warranties and digital cameras as possible. Please remove the address you listed as Repairtech in N. Miami Beach. These kind people have enough problems and are attempting to help YOU, the consumer in a time of need. Not cool at all.

They cannot help people with TVs, GPS, computers, stereos etc. They are working to help digital camera owners, since thats what they do as a Authorized Service Center! The web site is http://www.warrantyresolutioncenter.com and please be careful whos addresses you list unless you have the facts correct.
