I am so mad I fell for this. Read an article on Forbes that they could remove Ripoff Report and they can't. Even worse, they won't refund, or do anywork. Total Ripoff on reputation management and it seems from You Tube they also fail at privacy protection. See this ladies video below, wish I would have seen it before I was scammed $5,000. I worked at mugshots.com, reputationdefender.com and reputation,com that are all apart of the Fertik portfolio. As someone who works there let me clear up some misinformation in the thread. I agree with the poster earlier that mushots.com and reputationdefenders and reputationdefender.com are connected. He is wrong though in claiming that Fertik does not own them. Monday, July 2, 2007 Fertik was interviewed by the Washington Post (click to read article) and here is an excerpt: "The point is, said ReputationDefender founder Michael Fertik, "Googles not in business to give you the truth it's in business to give you what it thinks is relevant..".    2007, is also the year we first licensed a Structured Query Language code. We created an on-going relationship with a group which continually provided new iterations to manipulate Google's search results. We hired people who continually value added the code and sought new coders to keep relavent with the Google's algorithm changes.

ReputationDefender.com and ReputationDefenders.com both are owned by Fertik. The whois information is attached along with screen shots from 'The Way Back Machine' which archives past webpages. After the success of Lijit Networks using the SQL code for bloggers we moved into promoting doctors whom previously had medical malpractice issues and needed to be sanitized from from transgressions which now were memorialized on the Internet. Therefore consultingmd.com was born, and our newest iteration of the code will be utilized from our Malaysia partners.

Michael Fertik owns ReputationDefender.com and Reputation.com this can be verified on Wikipedia (here). Fertik graudated from Harvard and he was interviewed by Harvard magazine where he brags about being founder of ReputationDefender.com (here) and how ReputationDefender "protect Internet users from having their reputations destroyed. The founder of ReputationDefender, and author, with David Thompson, of Wild West 2.0: How to Protect and Restore Your Online Reputation on the Untamed Social Frontier "And, to add insult to injury, Reputation.com, proudly admits its name use to be Reputation Defender (here). Smart move changing the name, it confuses people into thinking they are two seperate companies. As for ever getting a refund from either of Fertik's company, it will never happen.

Lets look at the claims of Lijit Hacking. "Norman is a preposterous liar with absolutely no credibility." Care to man up and provide your real name.  Anonymity is very nice when you can lie.  Your claim here is actionable.

2. I myself am listed in these scam and fraud pages by people like you that hide behind anonymity and libel others.  People that then charge to remove that negative content that they themselves have falsely made with the intent to extort the person.

Only partially true.  ReputationDefender.com was one of those fraudulent reputation management companies that was paid to remove pictures from mugshot websites.  As evidence of this claim: "I have a big time issue with ReputationDefender.com.This is the worst company I have ever worked with." This claim is listed Here.  What you are doing is deliberately confusing a company that was owned and operated by Adam Dicker and Kyle Prall to falsely support your claim. Attached will be a screenshot of a pings to Reputation.com and Reputationdefenders.com.  You will notice close, but different ip address for Reputation.com and ReputationDefenders.com.

You claim to be an ex-employee of Reputation.com, but identify yourself as an employee of Liljit Networks.  Liljit Networks has never heard of you.  They have never heard of you because they would not place themselves in the legal position of being sued out of existence by an employees rants, or even the rants of a person that claimed to be an employee. Reputation.com has an algorithm that maps out your entire social life?  Gee, Facebook leases that algorithm to the federal government.  Nothing new there, except your false claim to attribute that to a company you are spending a lot of time libeling. Reputation.com has an algorithm that maps out your entire social life?  Have you ever heard of Piple.com.  Check it out.  They map out your entire social life.

Your claims are provably false.

Norman is a preposterous liar with absolutely no credibility. He is no journalist, never was - works for Reputation.com and Lijit Networks as a hack low-level copy boy making word press blogs to try and defame legititmate whistle blowers. I also worked for Reputation Defender, Inc. And was personally trained in the SQL illicit code detailed below.

Norman (not his real name) is a hired, PAID attack dog, whose now pissed off because his employors Michael Fertik, Matthew Cooke and Rexxfield have been brought out into the light for their automated defamation campaigns. First they defame you, then they call to help you with your problem.

Norman the report on ROR is false because people who worked for them claim this scam has been ongoing for 6 years, and that Reputation.com has not been in business 6 years

After purchasing the SQL illict code from Matthew Cooke of Lijit Networks and Federated Media Publishing, Reputation Defender, Inc changed its name to Reputation.com and announced the name change on Jan 27th 2011 and increased their funding to $67.7 million. Maybe Normans boss forgot to tell him that in 2007 he (Michael Fertik) gave an interview to the Wall Street Journal talking about how he can get postings removed from the internet, that is as REMOVED censored and then we can begin to understamd why $67.7 million has been raised by Fertik and the need to purchase illicit code which Fox News already called criminal.

Norman once again has his facts wrong. Norman and the Lijit Networks crowd must sit around in their undies with a bowl of Fruit Loops and play Carnac the Magnificent before writing thereblog posts.

In closing, take my advice: stick to pencil pushing at your day job, versus your absurd web rants.

I do not know who this Lijit Hacking is, but it is damned obvious that he is name dropping without identifying himself while trying to puff his authority.  The audio that he presents is on Ripoff Reports alleging how anything dealing with anything software is obviously stolen code. And can be found on the internet, especially youtube, representing any number of claims against Google.

I can understand how the author of most of these comments feels hurt.  A legitimate company is taking away from his scam.

For the record, Reputation.com does have a patent on their algorithm.  While I question the legitimacy of patenting a Bayesian algorithm that is use in statistics and statistical programs, the patent is real.  Because of Lijit Hacking's obviously false claims, I am posting the patent from Google patents.  That patent is HERE.  The patent number from the US patent office is 8060508.  There is a second patent, but the one I linked to is the primary patent.

As previously written, I operate an anti negative content website.  You can find that website HERE.  Reputation.com is entirely legitimate.

The reports that most present are obviously false in their own light.  Claims of $30,000.  I guest they did not check the listed prices on Reputation.com.  The top tier price Reputation.com lists is $6,000 per year.  Reputation has not been in business five years.  So the claim does not pass the common sense test.

I worked in the legal department for Reputation Defender, which changed its name to Reputation.Com because of all the consumer complaints. In 2010, we were approached by large media companies about a conspiracy to extort consumers and eventually Google with an SQL code that allowed manipulation of search results and deletion from private web servers.



We dealt with an IP attorney named Tim Reynolds whose clients were employees of Lijit Networks and Federated Media publishing. The plan was to create false and defamatory content on people who would be concerned about their reputations, and then charge them for Reputation Management services to remove the content they themselves had created.

The larger media companies (lijit networks and federated media publishing) drove traffic to reputation.com and then beniffited by trying to make it look like Google was allowing the defamation to take place and equally altering search results to make blogs rank higher within Google. We met with a person whom claimed to be from Australia, and personally came to our offices to teach us the technique. Imagine my surprise when I later heard an audio tape online detailing much of this Click audio here

Do not visit any websites which mention Reputation Management or SEO as they have an algorithm which maps out your entire social netoworks looking for new victims to defame online. Remember, they are the ones who are creating your problems.

I have nothing to do with this company, but I have investigated them.  My name is Norman Haga and I operate an anti negative content website focusing on mugshot and public record abuse.

In the course of investigation of material for my website, I found a claim of patented technology/algorithms.  This set off red flags and I investigated because most of these sites are scams.  Reputation.com does in fact have two patents on the technology that they use.  While I question the validity of patenting a Bayesian algorythm, they do in fact have patents.

The above author, ROY - Jackson (United States of America) lists a link to a rip off report: http://www.ripoffreport.com/Reputation.aspx.  If you hoover over that link, or you click on it, you will find that it links to http:/// , in other words, it links to nothing.  In short, the claim of Roy in Jackson is false.

In my investigation of alleged online reputation management agencies, Reputation.com is only the second legitimate agency I have found after investigation about 100 agencies.  The other legitimate agency is Brandyourself.com

Reputation.com focuses on business and Brandyourself.com focuses on a single individuals.  My website, after showing some of the problems the negative content industry creates, is moving into Do it yourself (DIY) online reputation repair for those unable to afford the fee's Reputation.com charges.

Contrary to the claims of the report, Reputation.com is legitimate.  It is my opinion that the reports author is one of the scam agencies.

Ripoffreports is itself a negative content industry and they do not verify information that they allow others to make.

You would think before a major network would take money for advertising they would check out the advertiser first. Greedy b*stards. Why would MSNBC advertise reputation.com. Is it so hard to do a little investigation and show some integrity?

Reputation.com  sales people made all kinds of promises and claims. Liars. They use simple examples of names they were able to show some good results. I have talked with other businesses that also lost thousands of dollars to reputation.com. Michael Fertik was a guest on several shows which is what sold me to sped our hard earned money.

WARNING! do not tell them how unsatisfied you are. Just walk away. They will make your life miserable and try harder to destroy your business making it worse for you on the Internet. No matter what, they will never refund you a dime. They threatened me. Just walk away. Never mention you will expose them on the Internet.

We also tried several other reputation management companies and lost money. The only ones that were honest were the ones that said, don't waste your money on trying to remove anything from this website ripoffreport.com. The honest ones did not want to take our money and offered other services.

While I don't like this websites policy's, actually, that could be changing.

ripoffreport.com did a lot of damage to our business. What ripoff report didn't do to our business, reputation.com did even more damage and put us out of business. We trusted them. They took more than $30,000 from us and they could not move ripoffreport or yelp!

Like millions of others, we heard those advertisements on the Howard Stern show. I would expect more from Howard Stern to have his people check out the companies that support his show.

Howard Stern Show should be ashamed for promoting scum like Michael Fertik and reputation.com.

I see all these publications featuring Fertik and reputation.com as the authority on reputation management. Nothing could be furthest from the truth. In my opinion, he is nothing more than a hack. Another company, a compeditor said they worked for Fertik for years and said he was a hack and not an honest person who has everyone fooled.

I hold Howard Stern in part responsable. I have always looked at Stern as truth with good sarcasm. I personally will be notifying the Howard Stern Show about reputation.com, other people who also got ripped off should also contact Howard Stern. Once put on notice lets see if Stern's show is like main stream media where they will take anyone's money.  

In my opinion, after what we experienced and have read about reputation.com, Fertik should be reported to Attorneys General and the FTC for fraud and misrepresentation on a very large scale.

They advertise on the radio. It sounded like a great idea.
Their sales people seemed so concerned and helpful when they called us about postings we have on ripoffreport and yelp. They knew all the right things to say. Once they got our money they did nothing but hurt our rankings on the Internet. They ignore our calls. They are nothing but a bunch of crooks.

I hope that the search engines are on to what they are doing. They posted useless garbage about our business. It looks like the person that wrote the content was drunk.

We called reputation.com over and over demanding that they remove what they put out there, it's so embarrassing what they posted about our business. One employee who said he was leaving the company because of the dishonest culture at
reputation.com. This employee said that people in India write their blogs so that explains why everything they posted to try and push away negative comments about our business makes little  or no sense.

If I knew this is what they were going to do I would have never paid them over $10,000. I dont want to give the exact amount. They promised the negative complaints on this site would disappear. Now I see them advertising on TV. They have so much money I am sure they plenty of money for big lawyers.

This company needs to be investigated. They need to be shut down. After leaving many messages for them to get back to us that we wanted our money back they threatened it would only get worse if we called asking for our money back ever
again.  We asked how it would get worse they just hung up the phone on us.

I am reporting them to the attorney general here in California. I am going to take them to small claims court and get my money back.
