Res-com advertised and confirmed by phone that if you complete and pass all their required tests you would become an inspector employee and would be covered by their insurance. Later to find out that they would only use contractors with their own insurance.
They collect training and test material fees and can make you pass or fail at their leisure. The training DVD and correct test answers contradict in several cases with themselves and can be interpreted many different ways. In the meantime through the prolonged process, you pay a weekly fee to AABIE, which membership you need to even go through this training and test process.
Trying to contact the General Manage Tom Gordon to get answers about the training and test processes, their general business and practices is impossible. You get the runaround with unsigned e-mails and some answer services.
They have gotten many complaints at the BBB. Hopefully Res-com will be shut down very soon to stop this scam.
There seem to be enough scammed and upset people out there to make a class action suit worthwhile.

It appears that is on the horizon. Jimbo got tired of playing just when I had taken the time to get these email chains formatted so people easily see the chronology of when and from whom the complaints came. Take time to look at them. They begin with people not being able to find them. Gordon rebuttal is to insult, which isn't usually a sign of professionalism. Through out they attempt to send rebuttals using different names. You will Mohamid respond then later it's Jose Mohamid.
The loca inspectors seem to express the idea that they get jobs. Look and see where they are. Same area of California. I don't believe there were complaints that Res-Com didn't do inspections, there is just huge issues regarding havng jobs available thousands of miles from their location. And of course there is the issue of certification. No doubt the locals who use AABIE cerrtification as advertising won't like the idea that this may turn out to be completely worthless.
My thoughts are that there are no jobs thousands of miles from Res-Com. This is an attempt to get revenue through the certification process and to also build up a cadre of certified tecnicians across the US. Jobs??? I doubt it. File an AG complaint. I have been spending time looking for Jim so I can take a hard look at his business. There are so few people that advertise that they are AABIE certifed it should be pretty easy to figure out what company Jim has in the Santa Rosa area and what connection he has with the Fuelings and Res-Com.
