The first summer I was the only tenant that stayed in the house. This is where our problems would start to spiral out of control. The first incident was when the hot water heater went out. I contacted them the first day because nothing says your going to have a bad day than an Icy shower in the morning. It just makes you awake and furios. After 3 days worth of phone calls and having to shower at my friends house. They finally sent some one out to fix it. The maintenance guy told me. "It was an easy fix, I can't believe you didn't do it yourself."
Secondly that summer my AC went out in August, with a string of temperature in the 100's scheduled for that week I called the apartment complex to come out. I was never contacted back. Every time I called nothing would happen they finally came around to fix it after 2 weeks. The maintenance guy seemed like he couldn't believe he was called out. He scoffed when I told him my plight.
My roommates moved in and I felt that since school was back I would finally start to get attention and they would staff more people on since they quadruple how many tenants actually live in that area during the school year. Problems started to arise as the place seemed to just go steadily down hill. The toilets would run slow. The sink wouldn't even work. Every time we would call no one would contact us. No one would show up.
Around January our only toilet downstairs broke. Having this be the only toilet we could use with out having to walk up stairs we were hoping to get it fixed right away. We called the first week they told us some one would be out there to fix it with in the week. One week went by no one. We called again another week went by. This would be the pattern Finally IN MAY my roommate after calling the Columbia office, and the Kansas City office we were given the head of maintenance number we called him. He told us "Your toilet has become some what of a legend around here. We send some one out weekly and you guys still call" No One Ever Came Out. Finally my roommate bought a drain snake and fixed it himself.
Currently I no longer live there, my old roommate and 2 new ones still occupy the place because it is one of few college kids can afford. I have been moved out since July 25th. The landlords have yet to do a walkthrough or give the damage waivers to the new tenants. I have yet to receive my deposit. This being after I paid for the new carpeting for the place (which was supposed to be taken out of the deposit) and at this point the landlords have blacklisted me and won't respond to my email or my phone number.
