Retail Services Charge of $15 to use check by phone, will not accept credit card payment to pay amount in full, website will not accept information! City Of Industry California

Today I called Retail Services with the intent of paying off my 1-year old dental bill for my son. To my utmost surprise, they do not accept credit cards as payment! Per Sid.

I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor, Lakisha, repeated what the customer service representative said. I told Lakisha that nowhere on their bill does it say, "We do not accept credit cards for payment". She claimed not to be aware of what was printed on the back of a bill. (This is a supervisor???)

I then told her that charging me over 20% APR on a balance was ridiculous, and I was prepared to pay the amount in full, right here, right now. I asked her, didn't she think that the company was ripping people off by not allowing them to pay off a debit with a credit card? She simply stated no. She suggested that I contact my credit card company and inquire as to a balance transfer or use the cash advance option on my card.

No way! Every time somebody does a balance transfer on your credit card, it brings you down in points with your credit rating! Not to mention that the fee to pay back a cash advance through a credit card company actually makes Retail Services' rates appealing!

In my 20 years of paying bills and dealing with all types of companies, I have never come across such idiocy. This company clearly wants a monthly income. From the charge of $15 to use a check-by-phone option to the inability for a customer to pay a debt with a credit card, this company has shown greed and borderline law, as well as ethics breach. I will not rest until I see restitution to the others that have been ripped off by Retail Services (which I had no idea of until I did the search and wham! Up came this site!) I expressed this to the uncaring Lakisha.

At least the people who provide the credit application should inform the consumer BEWARE! You will be paying on this for the rest of your life!
